Used with JBL 9.1 satellite speakers
Easy to put together but start from the bottom and then work your way up to the top. Much easier than the instructions which have you starting from the top.Bought for JBL 9.1 satellite speakers when in use and stored away when not. They don’t “clamp” the speakers but I’m not worried about that. They haven’t danced off the stand yet and if that happens I’ll McGiver something to make it work. Nice economical way to make the bar work as it should. And the packaging was environmentally friendly, no Styrofoam to be found, all recyclable cardboard, well played!

Great surround sound speaker stands
Great speaker stands overall. What I liked is that these are height adjustable unlike some others. I am using these for my pair of surround sound rear Klipsch R-15M speakers behind the couch. Just take your time and be patient. I recommend doing the opposite of how it says to string the wire. If you string the wire from the top out through the bottom you can't because it gets stuck inside on the lip at the bottom when you're about to make it all the way through. String the wire from the bottom to the top and pull it out (might need something to grab it like little tweezers) so that way when you get your heavy speaker on you don't have to mess with the wire, it's already strung through and you just connect it to the speaker. This speaker stand is not sturdy on it's own. I have these stands behind my couch for the surround speakers so it will not be bumped or touched, but it needs weights so that it is stable. I bought the "US Weight Tailgater Canopy Weights – 20 lb" to use for weights US Weight Tailgater Canopy Weights - 20 lb It comes with four 5 pound weights so you can wrap 2 of them around each speaker stand pole. If you are putting it in an area with more traffic it would probably be better to get the 30 pound option. I recommend tightening all the screws that allow the top of the stand to move before you put the speakers on especially the one in the center otherwise it will not be stable and move slightly. Once you finally get the speakers on both stands and all set up, if you put force and try to move the speakers on the top they will move just very slightly which is probably a good thing, you don't want it too tight in place. It might not be perfectly level but it's good enough. Just make sure all screws are tightened so that it's as stable as you can get it. Once in place and all set up and stable, do not be paranoid and do not keep touching it and messing with the screws because you might mess it up or weaken in. I get so paranoid thinking they won't hold, or that I didn't do something right and that I should make adjustments but that will just do more harm than good. Do not overthink it and do not keep adjusting it over and over and over. Just get it so it looks pretty good and don't think about it again. The best thing is that these are pretty cheap at around $40 I can buy again in the future if I need to, but since these are behind the couch I think they will last.

I like 'em. I like 'em alot!
I have not been "corrupted" or enlightened by more expensive products, so with my limited experience (these are the first speaker stands I've used) I'd have to say these stands are great. There seem to be some minor changes in comparison to previous reviews. There was no plastic piece to punch out or remove from the bottom pole in order to thread the speaker wire to my amp. They were packaged very carefully and fully assembled. Not a scratch or blemish on them. They also included rubber strips with adhesive backing for the side arms so as not to mar the speaker cabinets when tightening them into place, no blue tack needed! I did however cut out rubber shelf lining sheets to protect my speakers from the bottom plate as my speakers have shiny, piano black plates on the tops and bottoms. One reviewer complained that the speakers had to sit atop the wire to be threaded down the centre of the poles, but that was not the case with mine. This set had holes pre-cut on the sides of the upper poles near the top so the speakers sit flush on the carrying plates and I cannot see the speaker wire from most angles. I'm using these with Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 speakers, which weigh 14 lbs. each. I removed one star from a perfect rating because the bottom plate could stand to be a bit larger. The speakers will teeter slightly if pushed, but I have no pets or children to worry about causing any accidents. The stands are perfectly stable, even on medium pile carpeting. Even when I play music loudly with strong bass attacks, they do not move in reaction to the low notes.Actually, I wish I could attach a half star more, because for the price, the product I received is stellar and completely pleasing. These stands are easily adjustable in all directions, and once secured, the settings won't change. They allow me to locate the speakers perfectly in all directions, which is tonnes better than the console table I was using previously. I'm very satisfied with my purchase as the speakers sound even better than they did before, and that, after all, is the main purpose of purchasing this product, is it not? Oh, and they are rather handsome looking to boot. Minimal and unobtrusive or gaudy, just my style. I could have afforded the next tier up in quality, but why bother? I'm handy with wood and power tools, so if I require beefier stands in the future, I plan on just building my own. For now though, this product saved me time, effort, money, and frustration from miscalculated measurements. A fact I appreciate especially as I'm just too busy to build anything right now, but not too busy to sit and have a listen to my favourite tunes in sheer enjoyment when I have a spare moment to myself.
