I've been using this Bissell Natural Sweep for quick cleanups, and it works great on both hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's lightweight, easy to maneuver, and doesn't require batteries or electricity. It's perfect for picking up dust, crumbs, and pet hair between regular vacuuming. Easy to empty and a great time saver. Highly recommended!

Sold! The amount of dog hair this little thing picks up is amazing! It was very easy to assemble and it has a nice long handle. It is also easy to empty. In my home, I have vinyl, low pile kitchen, carpets, and a shag carpet in my bedroom. I have tried the sweeper on all of the surfaces and it works really well! I have yet to try it on my hardwood, but I’m sure it will be just fine. You just have to be patient, but it picks up practically everything! If you just need a quick cleanup, this is the sweeper you need!

Loved the size of the floor part of the sweeper being bigger than most others I compared it to, plus it has two large brushes underneath compared to most having one. I also chose this model of because of the longer handle size so I’m not bending over more like smaller models require. A schematic of the finished product completed is provided inside the box. It appears very simple and intuitive. The photo shows numbers indicating various pieces or parts and in the box there are only four poles and a grip to put the handle together, then attach to the sweeper. TIP ONE: The pole parts come without any corresponding numbers to match the assembly picture. Initially the four poles all look to be identical with each having a threaded bottom to simply twist one piece into another, creating the handle. However, take a moment to compare the threading of all four poles. Find the one pole with slightly more narrow threading. That one is meant to be on the very bottom to attach to the top of the floor sweeper. TIP TWO: When twisting the other pieces easily together, I found one that would not easily thread and literally stuck tight halfway. (It was not in the wrong place.) Sometimes learned a little extra bit of paint inside the threading can cause it to stick. Take the pole and untwist it, then quickly with a little force, twist it back and forth a few times as you go. This movement will loosen the bits paint up and allow the two pieces to connect completely. Ready to use!! Why only 4 stars? I happened to purchase a smaller brand on Amazon for my daughter’s college dorm/apartment. Both this Bissell and her model were used at opposite ends of a long 10’ runner in the college kitchen after a week of four students walking thru and cooking/spilling various spilled cereal, grass pieces, random pasta pieces. We each took an end and met in the middle with our own new hand sweepers. Both were picking up spilled food, cereal, and even small pieces of grass tracked in from outside. I was surprised to find it me took several more passes over dirty areas with the Bissell as it kept leaving or dropping a piece it had previously picked up. Compared to the smaller one that rarely needed more than one pass, most two over heavy areas, having only one big brush. However the Bissell collected more hair on all carpets and mats it was used on. Being a household with four animals at home I loved this. However removing the hair from the brushes was very difficult. I wish it had come with a tool used for removing hair caught on the brush like my daughter’s did. I went home and now am using an older plastic brush to pull the hair off, and also find a smaller handled fork that seems to be more study and working more quickly as it’s metal. Yes I still use my regular sweeper that doesn’t have a brush for bigger jobs but still prefer this for quick runner clean up and works great for front covered porch mats.

I started out buying the Fuller brush sweeper and loved it so much (read: no technology) I thought I’d get another. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. That may sound lazy but it’s all about convenience sometimes. I decided to go with a cheaper model the second time around so I opted for the Bissell floor sweeper. The Bissell has a much larger head and slightly longer handle. You can see the diff in the pics and mesmerizing video, which is a side by side comparison. I have no idea why I took it this far but I was genuinely curious if there was a diff between the $60 sweeper (Smaller overall. Kitschy colors) and the $20-30 brand ( Larger. Not quite as tight brushes) and the whole process highly entertained my husband. I think him watching me spill rice, oatmeal and flower onto my rug was well worth the effort. They weigh the same - between 2&3 lbs. I find the Fuller brush model to be a little bit more resistant when sweeping but I also think it picks up smaller particles faster as can be seen in the video. The Bissell model is easier to push and rolls better but it takes a few more sweeps to achieve the same level of cleanliness. None of these sweepers are meant to replace a traditional electric vacuum. For me it’s all about picking up the crumbs and the dog hair in between the regular vacuuming. Because they both can lie almost completely flat, it’s great for getting under furniture too. Just don’t ask too much of either model. They aren’t going to pick up huge pieces of debris or be equal to an electric vacuum cleaner. I truly like both models. I use the Fuller sweeper on really small stuff like powder. Both models have TWO reservoirs for dirt but the Bissell has springs so don’t stay open on their own. It can be a tad tricky to clean them. The Fuller brush reservoirs stay open so I can clean them easier. I wish it was larger with a longer handle like the Bissell. I do feel like the Fuller model picks up more overall but dollar for dollar, the Bissell works just fine. Any questions I can answer? I’ll do my best. Thanks for reading my review. Cheers!

This manual sweeper picks up pet hair, dry kibble and all such things quickly on hard floors or extremely low pile when you need a quick sweep but can't or don't want to drag out your vacuum. It doesn't do much for carpet with pile. After all, it's not a vacuum. Good for quick superficial uses between vacuumings. Easy to use and clean. The brush roller isn't as good as older models, but for $30, it's a convenient item for your cleaning arsenal. Easy to assemble (no real instructions, but no tools needed). Only real gripe is the handle is a bear to put onto the top of the rod and tends to come off. Be prepared to use all your sttength to put it on and get it to stay. Not a deal-breaker, though. Much more preferable to the higher-priced model made by another long-time well-known company. Added in after using item 2-3 times: Changed my mind about this manual sweeper. I've had several in my life, as have family and friends, and the quality has diminished significantly. Near impossible to put the handle together, then it falls apart everytime I've tried to use it. Flimsier than a child's toy. Sure not going to use duct tape to hold it together, even for its low price of $30. Sad that quality control has gone downhill. These little manual sweepers used to offer a good, fast way to sweep up between vacuumings. No more. Not this one. Highly disappointed in the product and Bissell company. Too much trouble to return. Just money wasted.

I love this . People say the handle doesn't screw on . It doe's you have to push it hard and twist. I love this. I have hard wood floor and it picks up hair from my labs. Its easier then sweeping . Thanks

Bissell sweeper works excellent. Three tests: Tile only, picks up everything. Rugs, picks up everything. Litter box rug, picks up everything. Collects hair n everything on all three surfaces. Keeping in mind that it can only pick up stuff while in motion. Faster motion spins the two brushes faster. Don't bump into stuff. Don't beat the heck out of it and it will last. Easy to flip the two collection doors on the bottom over the kitchen garbage for emptying. Very impressed and not noisy like the shop vacuum. It does pretty well up against corners against the cabinets and walls. Not perfect like a shop vac, but fine for daily clean up. Take care assembling the handle as the threads have paint on them. I tried one and it seemed kind of tight threaded. So I swapped the section out for another which threaded easy. A little back and forth will get everything threaded together just fine. Don't force them if one is tight. Back it off and thread it on little by little and it goes together. You have to push down on the plastic handle to create threads as you tighten it on the end of the threaded handle tube. Easy enough. Very impressed how the sweeper picks up kitty hair off all three surfaces I tested it on. Very little got caught up in the two roller brushes. Keep them cleaned out every so often and they will not get completely clogged up. It even picks up the kitty litter dust from that lightweight kitty litter which seems to track all over the house, but works excellent in the litter boxes so I will stick with that type litter and my Bissell floor sweeper to clean up after our fur babies. Use the floor sweeper daily when I have to be quiet while cleaning, and use the vacuum when I can make noise. Highly recommended product.

I cannot bear vacuum cleaners, and neither can my cats. They're too loud, too heavy, too cumbersome and take up too much room to store. So I got this sweeper to clean up tracked cat litter around my apartment. It does a pretty good job on my vinyl plank floors and carpeted bath rugs around the litter boxes. It's basically like a broom with a built-in dustpan. It's not perfect. Not as good as a vacuum cleaner, but it's so lightweight, so EASY, so blessedly QUIET, I find myself using it for quick cleanups throughout the day rather than procrastinating like I would with the vacuum cleaner. My kitten loves to dance around it as I sweep. She thinks it's the best fun ever!

Great. Works especially well on carpets. No more having to drag the electric vacuum cleaner out every day.

Didn't pick up dust and debris on a hard floor very well

So far so good. Much better than expected. Picks up hair and small particles. Not really dust, but ideal for those in between vacume days.
