Judging by the handle of the rod and the nut, it seems like, yes it might fit battle 2, 2500 -- But I am not 100% sure.

Could this rod handle a 7 pound bass?

With the medium rod, i've handled 15 lbs snapper and stingray. Doesn't cast as far as you would like with heavier weights but it's a brilliant all round rod.

What would be best for a size 30 reel?

A 30 size reel is pretty common and versatile. I use a 6' to 6'6" medium heavy with 10# braid. Medium is also a good option. Both for Bass, Pike, drum, trout, etc...

How long are the sections on the 6.5' model

The handle section is slightly longer at 21.5" and the thinner sections are 21". The plastic tube the sections come in is 24" long.
