Nobody Is Listening

I'm going through a hyperfixation with Zayn and that is the main reason I bought the CD. Came in good condition!

This one is art:The vocals-top tier yes, but he shares, so raw that some of it just speaks to your soulThe lyrics-poetry in tune. One of my favorite things about this artist is that he likes to play with your interpretation, likes to leave the audience to opt for their experience with double or even triple meaningsThe production-master level artistry and able to expertly pull from so many genres, artists and eras of musicThe instrumentalists-I'd go to individual concerts for the drummer, guitarist, bassistThe experimentation/signature Zayn-the use of vocal chops or whatever it's called when they use his voice for more than just singing for exampleThe mixing-the sentimental throwbacks mixed with the modern (and this is from someone not into the slurred word trend of singing. He does it tho but I've made peace with it on this work)I recommend listening with headphones to get the intricacies of the stellar production and to pick up on his background vocals and harmonies because some of the instruments do tend to lead your ears. But then again it does add to the experience that on each new listen there is more to find.I'm impressed as usual that he makes music from this kaleidoscope of sound. He pulls things together that shouldn't work but it does. Where he takes uneven tempos, real lyrics or blunt ones, comes on and off the beat effortlessly, purposely leaves in off notes and flows as natural as an ocean wave- both predictable in that there is an inevitable rhythm yet each one an unpredictably different, chaotic beautiful energy.The middle of the album is probably the weakest for me, but in an album of riches there has to be gems among the gold. So its not that the earworm tracks are bad, they are quite entertaining, it's just compared to the other gem quality tracks they felt more commercial. Windowsill being a good example of this-I've chosen it the most from the album to add to my fav playlists, BUT if asked for my favorite song on the album it would never be it.In short, this short album is well worth the experience.

I kinda fell off of Zayn after PILLOWTALK but am recently rediscovering him after this release, and I gotta say, I’m definitely a fan. I’ve been tracking some reviews and analyses of the album and I’m generally shocked by such mixed reviews. I think this album really proves his credibility as an honest to God artist rather than just a vocalist. I love his use of falsetto, the blurred lines between genres is particularly creative and the lyricism itself is very intentional. The inclusion of “Chaudhvin Ka Chand” by Mohammad Rafi (which was a huge deal in Bollywood in the 60s) as a bridge in Urdu in “Tightrope” is inspired, in addition to the lyrical parallels of “River Road” to Kahlil Gibran’s “On Marriage”:“We don’t define each otherStand on your own, be a pillar” the songAnd“And stand together yet not too neartogether: For the pillars of the temple stand apart,” the poemI just think this is it’s own level of artistic brilliance. As for production of the album I’ve been seeing also reviews stating some friction between tracks that are overproduced vs underproduced. I admit there’s some songs that I had to listen to more than once due to the production of the track but I think I’m all the more better for it. Every time I listen to the album I hear something new; whether it be a reference to a previous album (the concept of falling from a too passionate love from Icarus Falls, his 2nd album), or the slight pitch in certain lyrics when sung. This to me is just evidence of the level of intention Zayn conveys and inputs into this album. This is not supposed to be an album full of bangers, it feels like an atmospheric self reflection piece. Does something slightly so experimental such as this run the risk of underperforming commercially? Absolutely, but I hold such appreciation for an artist who does art for the very sake of it, and I’ve enjoyed watching the reactions of people who don’t even know who Zayn is experience the emotions conveyed on this album.

Great Product

I have always liked Zayn. I enjoyed his work with One Direction, and have purchased all his solo work.I have just gotten around to listening to this. Hard to wrap my head around it initially. It is not very commercial, and the use of really foul language seems gratuitous, but on replay in the car, it just gives you ultimately a very comfortable vibe.His voice is so terrific.Not for the little ones (though it seems that foul language is just the norm these days), but a very nice work.

The whole album is phenomenal! I listen to it all the time and have since it's release; it never gets old. The track 'Sweat' alone is worth the purchase. Huge Zayn fan!

Perfect! They look perfect and were handled with care. I love this album and am sure those I'm giving this as a gift to will as well. So happy to have them. These are the explicit version so be aware of that. Great price too.

Zayn malik ate ofc. Steam NIL!!No skips, no cracks in the CD or case. The inside has a little poster. The audio is really good and has that “cd sound” that i absolutely adore. Zayn fans i 100% recommend. I’ll write back in a few months to see how it is long term

Zayn takes a different perspective on the nature and events of a relationship (s) than previously. His lyrics are less overtly aggressive and masculine. He write with a tenderness and vulnerability, which is somewhat dissonant with his sometimes blunt and functional expression.Some fabulous tunes, grooving beats and angelic vocals.
