Excellent Product
This lens is easy to install, and throws lots of light down into corners from the handlebars. For most road riding, it eliminates the need for a helmet light, which is a PITA with having to wear the battery, and the extra neck strain. This lens pushes a little more light out to the ends than it spreads across the middle of the beam's width. This has the very nice property of throwing light into turns as though you had a 2nd light aimed into the turn. Pair with another light-head with standard lens for long beam throw to prevent over riding your headlights. My concerns about having the light too spread out to be effective were quickly put to rest. In fact, when riding the American River Parkway Trail at night, the foliage does a pretty good job of reflecting the light back onto the trail. Amazing how many deer, rabbits and coyotes this picks up. It also does a great job of picking up those wheeled trash cans that are always left in the bike lanes overnight. It lights both sides of the trail and the shoulders - about 14 ft - which I assume oncoming riders appreciate when we meet going through turns. A nice change from being so blinded you have to hit the brakes. It lights a standard 2-lane road from paint stripe to paint stripe and then some. This lens is an incredible bargain.UPDATE: 3/1/2012I used another light on my SS last week, and realized instantly why this lens is so pleasant to ride with. With typical narrow beam lights, as the handlebars move left-to-right, left-to-right, left-to-right, eventually your eye starts following the light, instead of watching the road. This tends to induce motion-sickness on long rides. With this lens the L-2-R movement can't be seen. You watch the road/trail, mostly unaware the light is even there. I've ridden over 1,200 miles now with this lens, and am ordering 2 more for my other 2 MagicShine lights. I'll never ride without it again.

Great lens, reasonable price! Works with Cree XML T6 - easy install
I bought this diffuser after noticing the strong spotlight effect from the Cree LED light. It arrived in about a week, which was very reasonable. It came in a padded plastic envelope, which I felt was all the packaging that was needed. I hate getting small items in bulky boxes, etc.In the bag with the lens was a card with some instructions/lights it was compatible with. The instructions said to unscrew the front of the light, remove the clear glass, and insert this one, flat side out, I think...I could have it backwards.Anyways, upon unscrewing my light, I noticed a neon green o-ring that held the glass in place. Another user claimed that the wide angle lens did not fit their Cree XML T6 light, and it makes me wonder if perhaps their o-ring fell out while they were unscrewing the light, leading to the loose fit for the new lens.Nonetheless, it took maybe 1 entire minute to install. The hardest part was getting the lines to remain vertical when tightening the final portion.I took my bike on an 11 mile ride the other day through some trails and neighborhoods, and the lens worked perfectly. It did not shift in any way, and it widened my viewing range immensely. It made the light only slightly less bright, and on high/medium, it still performed well. My girlfriend ended up riding behind me the whole way because it made it easier for her; she has the same light without the wide lens.I am purchasing another one for her. I highly recommend it.

Does exactly what it says it does at a bargain price
The pictures in the description showing the original spot beam configuration and the bar shaped beam show exactly what this diffuser lens does for you.It fit perfectly on my magicshine 808e light and with very little effort I was able to get it properly oriented horizontally and tightened down snugly at the same time. (yes, this does take a slight amount of effort as the lens is not fixed and it tends to turn with the bezel as you tighten it down, but this took maybe two tries to get it snug and exactly horizontal, and i don't see this being a fault of the lens, but simply a required step to have the horizontal orientation of the lens match with the light mounting system.)This will not make a sucky light brighter and anyone who is taking stars off their review of this lens because their light is not bright enough should be taking stars off the review of their choice of light, not this lens.it does seem to put out a little less "crisp" feeling beam of light, but again, the nature of diffusing light to change it's direction of beam does this by nature.I use this light with a helmet mount along with a non-diffused light on my handlebars to give me good light "throw" projecting straight forward from the bar mount and good wide light for peripheral vision, seeing around corners and just plain seeing anywhere I turn my head to look. It makes for a great combination and the two lights compliment each other.Summary:The Good:Diffuses light into a bar shape exactly as it advertisesBargain price for any lighting accessory.Good fit right on top of the existing lensThe Bad:Light is not quite as "crisp" as non-diffused lightMade of plastic and could possibly melt with heat? (mine has been quite hot and this has not happened, but I suppose it is possible.)You do have to orient the lens so horizontal matches your light mount. Conclusion:I would highly recommend this lens as a head mount light when using a non-diffused handlebar mounted light as well. Using this light makes me feel like there is light anywhere I look, up, down, side to side and especially around corners when your bar mount light is not yet showing you where you are going around the corner.
