Works GREAT- well worth the price from Amazon.com
I have a fondness for Tom Tom GPS units, and use mine in a small Honda (2009 Fit). Previously I used a hard plastic semi-permanent GPS holder that was fastened to the windshield "A" pillar to the left of the steering wheel. When the battery failed in my older Tom Tom GPS, I bought a new model and also bought this "bean bag" dash holder. This is MUCH better that the previous mounting system. The GPS is much easier to see and hear now that it is on the dash top just to the right of the steering wheel. In this position the satellite signals are easily received by the GPS. The bean bag holder is VERY steady on the dash and does not move at all even on sharp turns and rough roads. The best feature of this mount is, when you park the car, the GPS can be left attached to the mount and the whole thing can be removed from the dash and hidden under the back of the driver's seat so that thieves are not inspired to break your window and steal the GPS unit. With a permanent, or semi-permanent GPS holder left in view, thieves will still be tempted to break in to find a hidden GPS unit that has been removed from the visible holder. With the bean bag holder removed and hidden under the seat, there is no visible sign that a GPS is in the car. It's a great product, and would be cheap even at twice the price I paid on Amazon.

It's MUCH better than using windshield mounts!
This interesting device uses the original suction cup mount meant for the windshield to now sit on the dashboard with a well-weighted non-skid pad. It worked extremely well (except for jackrabbit starts) and I like it a lot better. Doesn't clutter up the windshield, and the GPS can't fall off of the windshield. Very happy with product-will recommend to my friends (who still use these units)!

Will work for larger GPS units - nice quality.
No issues so far - even with a larger (7") GPS unit this mount seems to hold it in place on my dash even with sudden stops or hard turns. Finding a "bean bag" mount that is low profile enough and doesn't take too much overall real estate on the dash is a bit of a challenge this seems to work well with my Magellan GPS. To be honest I like the Garmin system a bit better (no suction cups for bean bag style mounts) but they seem to be the only major manufacturer to use that style so a good suction cup universal mount is the best option if you don't (or in some states) can't mount to your windshield - I live in a state where you can but I don't like to leave obvious "GPS rings" on the glass where it might attract attention of thieves looking for a quick score and ruining my day over a GPS that they'd get about $25 for anyhow. I "dinged" the review one star due to the bottom of the mounts material - it's not as "sticky" as other manufacturers and on a slick dash (mine is textured) I could see that this mount may slide around during abrupt maneuvers. Two other positive points here would be that this isn't "branded" meaning there's no real indication that this is a "Tom Tom" mount printed on the front or the sides and the suction surface is large enough for every suction cup I've seen if anything it may be a bit over sized. I place the cover plastic back on the suction surface when I'm not using the mount to keep it clean.

Attractive and Functional
We have a 6" screen TomTom VIA GPS and wanted to use it in our 2014 Ford Focus, but the slope of the windshield combined with the shape of the dash limited to where we could put it. We looked at other bean bag style GPS mounts and this one looked to be more attractive and better shaped than the others. The mount arrived in 2 days (thanks, Prime) and we promptly placed it on the center of the dash above the myFord screen that is built into the dash.We attached the TomTom GPS to the new mount and went out for a test drive. We drove somewhat aggressively in order to determine if the mount would shift when cornering, etc. It stayed in place the whole time! We already had a RAM mount with the X-Grip for use on our motorcycles, so we bought the RAM suction cup to use this mount with the X-Grip and our Android smartphone in the car. It works great! For those wondering why we still have a vehicle GPS in this day and age, we travel to a lot of scenic places that simply do not have cell service. No cell service means no Google maps on the smartphone.

Works great!
I purchased this product to take with me traveling to attach my personal GPS to when renting a vehicle. This works perfect! The suction cup on my TomTom easily attaches to this mount which just sits on the dashboard. The mount is weighted down with a sand-like filling and has a backing the prevents/reduces it moving around. It is well built and isn't showing any signs of wear yet (I purchased this about 2 years ago). On most cars that I've used this in, the dashboards have been either completely or mostly flat and this had no problem standing still. In a friend's Buick (which has a curved/dipped dashboard) it did slide around slightly starting off but, but after it settled it was perfectly fine for the 300 + mi road trip. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy mount to attach a GPS unit to in order to avoid attaching the suction cup directly to the wind shield for any number of reasons.

useless for the tom tom go discover
The mount came in a damaged box. Although it was well made, it was not useful for my purposes. It was purchaed to be used with the Tom Tom Go Discover, which is a pretty heavy 7-inch gps. Once installed, the device kept falling off (read top heavy) even though the suction cup and surface were thoroughly clean. This mount is made for most dashboards, but it didn't work on mine. Returned for a refund.

GOOD DEVICE AND NEEDS MORE GRIP POWER.
It works. Period.however.. the holding/non-skid power is a bit lacking. so I pasted on the bottom, some 'non-skid' backing that is used mostly for throw rugs. that did it. I also had to clean off the Armorall from the dashboard shelf.. which made it too slippery. In the end; a good device and now does the job well.
