I splurged on the Duxtop 9600 (BT 200 DZ) and it is awesome...a whole new way of cooking that is better than electric and gas (I enjoy cooking with gas as well, but not wild about the fumes). It also has a built in timer that turns off the burner when finished...a great feature... **Q: Is the low temperature low enough to keep a coffee pot warm without "cooking" the coffee?** A: I would doubt it...the only burners that do that are the ones that come with coffee machines. You are better off transferring your coffee to a good, insulated beverage carafe (pour hot water in first to warm it up) that holds the original temp without adding heat to it and hastening its deterioration... **Q: Does it give off a toxic smell (electrical burning?) or was the one review about this an isolated incident? It looks good and is easy to clean. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by C***K on 24 May 2025* My range finally gave up and I'm not ready to chose a new one yet, so I researched single burners to get through the summer since everything pretty much gets cooked on the Blackstone anyway. I chose this burner because of how well designed and built it seemed to be. I'm happy to say that it's fabulous. I ordered two, but one was obviously used, so sent it back and Amazon exchanged it at no cost to me. I don't put up with receiving used products when I've paid for new. The second burner was new and perfect and works just as nicely as the first one. If water drips on the burner, don't leave it. You need to wipe it down asap because it's cast iron and will rust. Don't touch when hot though because it gets super hot, super fast. Way faster than the burners on my stove ever did. The burners take also quite a while to cool down again for the same reason, they're cast iron and hold on to the heat, which is nice for keeping things warm. Rust might be a problem in a humid climate and I probably wouldn't use them around little kids who can't be trusted to leave them alone because that's just an accident waiting to happen. Other than those two things, I think these burners are just about perfect. We've cooked several times with them and so far, so good.
