PeaveyCirrus Bass Guitar Strings, 5-string Extra Long for long-scale

They sound great on my bubinga/walnut Cirrus 5. It's bright, punchy and growly! Sounds very close to a Ken Smith!

I like the strings, nickel & the roundness that I like & am used to but they don't have the black silk string wrapped at the top (I have A Cirrus 5 Bubinga), the Cirrus head stock is black w/carbon fiber look, the "Black Top" strings look very nice on it. So I won't fault the strings for sound & feel, but the old Cirrus strings had the Black tops & the new ones don't & I would have gladly paid more for them just to have it. I already had D'Addario Slow Wound & I bought these because I thought they would be just like the old ones (with the black top) so I don't feel like I got what I paid for. None of the ads for strings show the actual strings, just the packaging they come in. I guess it's back to the music stores for strings.

Came on my Cirrus Bass - decided to stay with them because the neck is finicky when switching gauges or brands. Sounds good and bright for about 4 weeks then slowly start to dull under heavy playing. I recommend them.

Great strings in the right gauges for my range of 5 string Peavey Basses. They give a good balanced tone, last well, hold tune, and give good sustain. Not well known in the UK but well worth a try

I own two Peavey Cirrus 5 basses,and these strings were designed for my basses for a reason. First off,Cirrus basses (particularly the USA series) have necks that are nearly "36 in length,so standard scale is not an option here. Second,I've tried other brands that offer extra long scale and they simply don't measure up. I like my strings to feel smooth,deliver a bright,punchy tone and last long; Cirrus strings nail all of these qualities. I'll still try other brands when the budget is tight or if I want to try something new,but I will swear by these strings forever.
