A defect from factory, I contacted the seller and never got an answer. looking thru the reviews it looks I'm not the only one with this issue. Will never buy again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ looking for a shoe with great cushioning, I found this- love it *by L***K on Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2018* After reading the reviews, I went up a 1/2 size- from 9.5 to 10. Glad I did. Normally, I have worn a 4XE in New Balance- but the cut in of the toe on their newer shoes really played havoc with my feet- which are duck feet- super wide. I need both cushioning AND a wide toe box. Have been very disappointed with a lot of brands- so out of desperation I paid over a hundred for these. I prefer a cheaper shoes, of course, but not if it's going to make my feet hurt. Long story short- these are great. I was worried this D width wouldn't be wide enough- but what a surprise! It is! Just barely on my left foot- but it works. And better than then 4E in the NB! So go figure. The cushioning of the sole is fabulous. And the spring in the toe bed is really noticeable.
