My company bought this when we moved to a new office space so that I could contain my little dog when he visits. It was very easy to install and slides open very easily. Some of the taller employees will step right over it but it's easy enough to open. So far he has not been able to break out. :)

The media could not be loaded.  It serves its purpose, but my dog can still push through it when it’s locked. He has broken 3 of the mounting brackets so far pushing through the bottom of it while it’s been locked. I would suggest to watch your pets big or small because they can escape through this and break the hardware if they are a strong pet. No dealbreaker though. I knew my dog was capable of going through it before purchase, but I wanted a better alternative to the ones that gave the metal bars across the bottom that trip you or damage your trim because they don’t stay in place with current available grippers and construction concepts.

This does not work for my small dogs or for my 1 year old granddaughter. The dogs and baby have figured out how to go underneath it and I placed it as low as I could. It does keep my large dog in place so I feel this would be better for larger animals and older children. The material is durable and it looks nice once set up and when retracted it is out of the way. It does snap back super hard, since it is retractable, so you have to be careful not to let go while latching and unlatching it. I do like the locking mechanism which helps to hold it in place better as my gdaughter tends to grab the top and pull it down. I am still using this in the house and it is holding up better than expected, but I definitely would not trust this for stairs.

Easy to put up

This retractable baby gate has been ideal for keeping my kid in the parts of our home that we want him to be. When we're doing laundry and don't want my kid to enter the laundry room, we simply pull the baby gate from one side of the hall and attach it to the other, shutting the space off. When we're finished, we simply detach the gate from the far side and allow it to retract to its base.The mesh is strong and durable. They keep restricted spaces and/or toddlers or puppies confined. Every entry in my house, including the bedroom doors, has a gate. It's essential when you have children, like I do. My favorite aspect is that when the kids aren't around which isn't often, don't get me wrong, I can retract the gates and hide them. You have no idea how liberating it feels to go through a doorway without having to open and close a gate behind me; prior to retractable gates, I hadn't done so in 3 years. When the kid safety gate is not in use, the mesh may be fully retracted to conserve space and allow for easy access. The new locking mechanism is simple to use with one hand for adults but difficult for toddlers. 1. To unlock, hold down both buttons with two fingers, pull up, and spin counterclockwise. 2. Pull the gate out and secure it to the catches. 3. This was very easy to install and took about 15 minutes total. I like the fact that it is very quiet when opening and closing. The round knob to lock & unlock it is very easy to use also, which was a plus because our older grandkids can now get in and out through the gate but the 2yr old (and the dogs) can't. Very worth the money.

I like these a lot. I bought two for the stairs. Neither ended up perfectly straight. As a result the top on one and the bottom of the other isn't as tight as they could be, but it still feels very safe and secure.

My little dog can still get under this even when it’s locked. Otherwise it’s a good product and does what we need.
