Exactly! what some Mazdas or Fords require in the transmission.
Many people put the wrong transmission fluid in a Mazda FN4A-EL/ Ford 4F27E transmission "same transmission".I did then I found out right after the "MV" on the transmssion dip-stick and inside the owners manual IS NOT Mercon 5, it is M-V or M 5, specifically made for these transmissions. Here is the info - "The 4F27E is an electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transaxle transmission developed by Mazda and Ford. Mazda's name for this transmission is FN4A-EL, Ford's name for this transmission is 4F27E. On Mazda vehicles, this transmission uses Mazda M5 fluid (Mazda part number: 0000-77-112E-01), which is NOT Mercon V or Mercon LV according to Mazda Technical Service Bulletin 0500116. This fluid is made by Idemitsu Kosan (according to the label on the back of the Mazda bottle). Idemitsu sells the equivalent Type-M fluid in the aftermarket. The equivalent Ford fluid is FNR5 (Ford part number: XT-9-QMM5). Moreover, Mazda vehicles have "M V" written on the dipstick handle. Differences between Ford Mercon ATF and Mazda type M5 ATF:Mazda type M5 ATF is not the same fluid as Ford Mercon V or Ford Mercon LV.Mazda type M5 ATF has a greater viscosity than Ford Mercon V and Ford Mercon LV in low temperatures.Mazda type M5 ATF has a greater anti-judder specification than Ford Mercon V and Ford Mercon LV."

Change your transmission fluid now!
Works great in my 06 Ford Fusion with the Mazda FNR5 5-speed automatic (over 205k miles). When I drained the fluid it was almost black. This unit has a drain plug, so I decided to just change the fluid in the pan to start. It took 3 quarts. I plan to do this again in a few months, then also change the filter once the fluid starts looking clearer. See photos for how the original fluid looked.

Can use with FNR5 transmission found in 2009 fusion 2.3L
You can use this in place of Motorcraft AFT for 2009 fusion 2.3L. This tranny is manufactured by Mazda, so there is a mazda branded fluid out there as well.

Excellent.
Works like a charm! Noticed a difference after draining approx 3 quarts of dirty fluid out without dropping the trans pan. Added 3 quarts of new fluid back in and working better!
