ERPKP-2 Hose Clamp Plier

Don't expect tight tolerances... You get what you pay for. I guess I've gotten spoiled with my real ViseGrip pliers, so the loose tolerances annoy me. The angled jaws can either help or hinder your situations; because you're stuck using them at a specific angle, it can hurt your hands due to awkward angles; you're supposed to set the clamp back in it's original position if reusing the old hose. I think it would've been better if they made them straight jaw? For the most part, these work fine for most of the smaller wire clamps; once the clamps start getting bigger than 3", the thicker / stronger wire make these pliers very hard to use, as the leverage is just not there due to the small pliers size.

The thumb screw gets stuck and strips out rendering the tool useless after a few uses.

i have been in the appliance service business for 47 years. i try many tools,this is too small for bigger and heavy clamps. does not hold well on the wire end. better than some but still limited appeal . if you like lots of tools on the truck,this may be for you, look closely. this is limited market. i am still looking.

As others have noted - this slips a bit on wire hose clamps. I found, however that it can be modified using a triangular file - to cut two grooves at 90 degrees to each other - forming a shallow cross in the face of the flat pad. The tool then grips hose clamps better than as manufactured.

This is what you really need for the double split rings hose clamps. It will lock in place and hold and free up your hands to esaly remove the hoses. No more pinch your fingers shut in the channel locks pliers.

Just what I have been needing, don't know what took me so long buying a pair.

These are great for getting those pesky double loop hose clamps off. Once the tool is seated they don't let go until you undo the vice. Great addition to my tool bag.
