Finally, an instant pho staple! I
I love pho and have made it from scratch at home but sometimes I’m craving it and I don’t have the time and energy to buy the ingredients and simmer everything for a few hours. With the whole chickens, herbs, and spices it gets very expensive. This is the perfect convenience food! It’s basically like the ubiquitous instant ramen and it’s cooked in the same way. I pour boiling water from my kettle over the noodles and add the flavor packet and oil. While the noodles are cooking I like to chop up random herbs I have on hand, as well as lime. The add ins help to give it that homemade taste and you can tailor it to your own preferences. The broth itself is so flavorful and it’s not too salty or strong which I really like. The noodles are your classic rice noodles and they taste much lighter than ramen noodles if you are comparing instant noodle types. The oil gives it a nice savory and umami flavor that you can easily leave off if you want it healthier but I prefer the flavors and I don’t mind the extra calories. It’s so good! I see myself reordering this when I run out. It’s going to be a staple in our pantry from now on.

One of the few soup products that is double packaged
I like this brand because the noodles are sealed inside a bag that is again sealed by the outer package. Other brands that use only a single package tend to have bugs that get into the noodles.

Quick, Easy, Rice Noodles
Purchased this for 17.00 and the price has gone up. I'll have to check around at Asian markets to find it cheaper if it goes up any higher. This is very good for a packaged instant Rice Noodle dish. Quite often (midnight munchies) I'll make a quick bowl of this and it curbs my hunger and I can get back to sleep. It's ready in 3 minutes, tastes really good, nicely spiced (not hot), and lets you know you had some Pho.I use this bowl to make it in: Set of Japanese Soup Bowl w/Lid and Ladle Style Spoon Black & Red, 16 oz.. Put the dried Rice Noodles into the bowl, add boiling water (2 cups) to the top of the bowl's line, add in the dried green onion packet (and maybe a little cilantro I taste? With 2-3 strange looking chicken pieces?), add the soup base powder (strong flavors of Vietnam: 5 spice and other tastes I can't describe), add the oil packet (adds an unknown good flavor). Add the bowl's lid (or not) and wait 3 minutes. I use the lid to put under the bowl to keep my hands from the heat when I hold the bowl to eat. The broth is delicious...flavors linger after finishing the pho - good, lip-smacking flavors. This is wonderful if you are watching your gluten intake BUT...it does have gluten included in the soup base from the soy sauce - not much but I'm sure enough to bother a celiac. I'm gluten intolerant and it doesn't bother me. If you use a larger bowl and add quickly fried veggies and chicken to the bowl along with the soup you'll have a full meal.

Good, unhealthy Pho fix
These will never compare to authentic Vietnamese Pho, but it's really good. The salt content is high so for anyone with high blood pressure or recommended to avoid a lot of sodium, skip these. Also, those who really care about MSG, this definitely has it and you can taste the difference when eating this. so despite all the bad ingredients in these, I went ahead and bought these because they taste good. Life is too short to worry about one unhealthy meal every so often. This is not a daily or weekly thing and I highly discourage consuming these on a regular basis because of the ingredients, but if you are like me and don't have time to cook pho or drive to a resturant on a random day, this is a good gap filler. The cooking time is roughly 3 minutes and I am able to use my Keurig for hot water. That's a lot faster than ramen noodles. These noodles are very similar to "regular" pho. I have used these with regular pho broth (made a lot and froze the broth in small containers) when making a single serving instead of prepping a large pho bag. Again, I usually don't go for the instant pho, but will keep some around at all time for those emergency pho craving.

Updating review
These are quite good if you don’t follow the instructions. Don’t put the flavor pack on, pour boiling water over the noodles and wait 4-5 minutes. dump the water, add the flavor pack and a couple teaspoons of gluten free soy sauce. Then add boiling water, cover and cook for 3-4 more minutes. Quite good.

I love to take risks
I've been under home quarantine and I wanted a lot of easy to make meals in my pantry. So many reviews of these were great. I know nothing about authentic Asian food. I ordered two packs of 24. The first couple I prepared only has two packets the oil and the soup base. I must say while the rice noodles were very good the broth was oily and tasteless. I have since ordered instant broth flavoring and until they arrive I have added my spices I already own. It's very good when dressed up strongly but now increase your cost per package. I can live with this but be prepared to find your own additional spices to rescue this product.
