I was looking for a lower dose (1,000 IU), natural form of Vitamin D. Most companies produce high dose (5,000-10,000 IU) synthetic form of Vitamin D. Those will not work for my body. I get plenty of sun, so I don't need the highest dose, plus I feel weird from higher doses. Also, I don't like how most D is purely synthetic. I'm not sure how natural the form of D is in this formulation, but at least it is surrounded by brown rice, parsley, broccoli, carrots, and beets. That, combined with the lower dosage (1,000 IU), is enough to make the side effects reduced to zero.

This is a good vitamin D supplement in every way, but it’s pricey if you have to take it every day.

I have tried multiple D3 vitamin's and tended to have a reaction to most. A friend told me to give the products by MegaFood a chance. At that point I was highly skeptical but I was desperate. This purchase is my third bottle and wow what a difference. I had D level's that were so low I was at highly insufficient levels but my levels rose quite a bit after several months on the D3 from MegaFoods. That alone was enough proof for me to continue using this product. The only part of taking this that is unpleasant is that they smell horrible!!! As I stated before though it helps so much I'm willing to overlook that part. I would recommend this vitamin to anyone who needs more D in their life, especially those who are sensitive to a variety of other products you would find in other vitamins.

It’s a consistent, quality vitamin, but the price is just too high now. I’ll be looking for a substitute for my next purchase.

What can I say? Ingredients: Vitamin D3: sourced from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Not anything to worry about, since this is just yeast. Yeast produces Vitamin D-2 Naturally. Note: Vitamin D-3 sourced from Lanolin (sheep) is used in the process. As a result, this is not vegan if you really care. One star off because of this misconception. I would take all the stars off if this brand vitamin was the only company deceiving the public with their marketing. However, almost all vitamins are sourced from odd places. Do your research people. S. cerevisiae: Why do they list this as "Immune Health Blend" beats me. All this is saying is that the vitamin D-3 was not purified after the process of making it was complete. The yeast is still in the pill (and is a majority of the pill by weight). This is like saying that eating 253 mg of yeast and broccoli will improve your immunity. I guarantee you, 8oz of water will act as a better immune supplement than the "waste" left behind after the production of D-3. 77 mg of Parsley, Carrot, Beet Root and Rice Bran will not do anything for you. Plant cellulose, Vegetable Lubricant and Silica are harmless. 3 Stars because this is an OK supplement, there isn't much between a bulk D-3 supplement and this expensive "healthy" alternative. Overall, you have to be vegan or on some extreme diet to take this supplement regularly.
