What is the difference between this pen and the WiFi version?

I first had the Echo and then bought the sky wifi. Will is absolutely right. My Echo gave out after years of use (suspect battery failed) so I bought the Wifi versions and it sux in that it will quit recording and not tell you, not completely download sometimes. Bought another Echo.

Has anyone had the dim display problem? I am on my second one with this problem. No help from customer service. Buyer beware.

Yes. Buyer beware. My livescribe 8g echo display died after 30 months. Without a display the pen is useless. When I do interviews I need to be able to glance at the recording device (iPhone, recorder or pen) and know instantly whether it is on and recording. Or if the battery charge is running low. Customer service was polite, understanding, and ultimately useless. Best they would offer was a 30% discount on a full-price 2G. In other words, about what Amazon sells the pen for. If you absolutely need this tool--because it is unique and useful--then plan on buying a replacement every 2 to 3 years. I am flabbergasted at the way the manufacturer is handling this problem.

How many sheets of paper come with the starter pack?

The starter pack we received only had a small (50 sheet) single subject booklet.

Is it better to get the Wi-Fi version or just simply get the Echo? Will the Wi-Fi version download to an MiPad?

The wi-fi version is useless; the handwritten notes cannot be converted to editable text, so it makes it absolutely useless in my opinion.

Molto buona

Ottimo ausilio per persona con DSA. Mia figlia ha imparato ad usarla molto velocemente. Il menù di setup della penna è comodo ed intuibile; collegando poi la penna al computer ed utilizzando l'apposito programma, le possibilità di utilizzo aumentano (si possono scaricare i file audio registrati).

Es muy buen producto solo que todavia no lo evaluo por completo, pero sobre los 2 GB podria ser una limitante , ya que vi que en otros paises lo venden con mas opcion de capacidad y aqui no. Hasta ahorita ok

Le 3° successif que j'achète !

Beau produit MAIS très fragile. Le 1° est tombé (pas de très haut mais sur la pointe => mort) Le 2° fonctionne encore mais l'écran n'a plus de luminosité => je ne sais pas s'il fonctionne et je perds des pages de notes car, en fait, il est éteint ! Sinon, pour celui qui est amené à prendre beaucoup de notes et qui doit les exploiter pour les mettre en forme => outil fabuleux !
