Awesome chisles, reasonable price
My third set of Narex chisels. Could not be happier with them. Well made and they hold an edge very well. I am a furniture maker and use chisles constantly, but refuse to pay the holy @$%#! prices of the more famous brands. These shorter push chisles are great for control when morticing hinge plates and other detail work. Very sharp out of the box, but a couple passes on a piece of 800 or 1600 grit really hones the edge nicely. Love these, and thrilled with Narex.

They will work well for their intended purpose
I was hesitant to buy these because the handles were beech, not hornbeam or ash, but the manufacturer responded to this concern by pointing out that butt chisels usually aren't struck as hard, so beech should be fine. A nice-looking, comfortable set that arrived with a perfectly usable edge. The chisels are not large, and that's actually a plus. The box is attractive. Would buy it again.

Soft steel, does not retain an edge
I have about every chisel known to mankind. For the money, the german makers such as MHG and Two cherries are hard to beat, Woodriver chisels are surprisingly decent as well, and most old USA makers are great too. The Narex chisels are easy to sharpen but the steel is soft and the cutting edge/microbevel is constantly rolling. I ended up selling all my Narex chisels. Its well worth it to pay a few bucks more and get a good quality chisel and a nice set of DMT diamond stones. Just my experience as a furniture maker.
