How long is the shoe lace? I need to replace it

The laces are pretty long. I would easily say over 16 inches. If you need longer laces yes they can easily be replaced.

Can the child actually put their foot in the shoe?

Not sure we have never tried. lol! But it did help her greatly in learning to tie her shoe!
