Just what the doctor ordered!
This is a fantastic little pill container and crusher. I was a little hesitant to order at first because it's 2 or 3 times as expensive as most plastic pill crushers based on the same screw-down plunger concept. But I've had too many cheap plastic gadgets break with limited use, so I ponied up and bought one of these. And so glad I did. Just be sure you understand what you're getting. What it's not:Regardless of the keyring attached, it's not really appropriate as a keychain. It's too big and too heavy for that. It's about the size of a a stack of 3 twist-off plastic coke bottle caps. But being made of stainless steel it weighs a little over 3.5 oz empty (100+ grams). It's also not going to crush most pills to a super-fine powder or have room to store a month's worth of daily doses. What it is:It is a convenient size for travel, easily fitting into your shaving kit, purse, or carry-on bag. It will crush pills to an adequate coarse powder. In fact, it does almost as well as the metal pill grinder I have for use at home. If you need fine powder you'll need a mortar & pestle, which I also use at home but don't travel with. But this one is perfect for travel where size and convenience are most important. And if you make 2 or 3 passes, shaking the powder around in between, it will get pills down to about the same fineness as cornmeal. It's also extremely sturdy - literally going to last may lifetimes. And it's very, very high quality, with exceptional machining. And, contrary to what some reviewers have written, it really is quite easy to use, whether crushing pills or simply opening the top to access storage. No need for adding T-bars in place of the ring (cool as that looks) or removing the O-ring seals (comes with 2 extras, BTW).It's also a terrific pill container. The very top opens to reveal that the plunger part is hollow, with enough room in it for about 20-25 typical aspirin sized pills (the plunger is still plenty thick and heavy, though). So it's an all-in-one for short trips. Well, almost. I modified a small funnel to fit inside the pill storage compartment so I have an easy way to transfer powdered pills into one of the little titanium containers, sold by many vendors here on Amazon, which are much more suited to slipping in a pocket, attaching to a keychain, or wearing on a chain around your neck. All in all, this one gets a definite "buy" recommendation form me. As long as you understand what it is and what it isn't, you won't be disappointed.

ALMOST a perfect product....
I've been looking for a small keychain pill storage/crusher for some time, but never came across anything. There were plenty of small, mini, even micro keychain pill storage devices, but nothing that offered the option of being able to have a pill crusher also. So when I came across this product, naturally I had high hopes. When I received it, my first impressions were that it was a bit larger than I expected, & DEFINITELY heavier than I expected (this is easily one of the most common complaints in the reviews). And after taking the individual sections apart and analyzing it further, another immediate thought that came to mind was that it could still be made so much smaller. I just didn't understand the reason behind this. Its far too heavy to put on a keyring with all the other keys, and its still just unnecessarily big. I mean, if you're going to make a small pill storage capsule device with a grinder/crusher component, make it so it can actually be inconspicuously put on a keyring and it doesn't feel like you have a brick attached to your keys. And I assure you, I'm not over-exaggerating....for its size, its surprisingly heavy. I tried attaching it to my keychain and it felt so awkward because of the size and weight....it was not comfortable to carry. And as I said before, it could've been made so much smaller, and still accomplished its job(s). The pill storage section is also surprising. It could hold 15-20 advice tablets, easy. Do you really need to carry that many pills? This is supposed to be a product that attaches to your keychain, something you carry around that holds enough pills for a day...the time you're out and about, away from home, until you can come back and have access to the regular full size bottle in your medicine cabinet again. Just so you have what you need, in case you need it, while you're gone for that day. This keychain could of EASILY been designed to be half the size it currently is, or maybe even less, and still accomplish what it's designed for. Do you really need to carry around 15-20 pills for the day? It could've been slimmed down to hold 10 pills for example, which even that seems a bit much. That also would've saved a considerable amount of weight, one of the biggest complaints, and made it not so cumbersome in size. It's still, even without the weight issue, a bit too large to be attached to a keychain. Whoever was in charge of the R&D of this product just really missed the mark. Now, to the main feature other than the storage....the pill crushing aspect. To be honest it did better than I expected, and crushed id say 95% of the pill to powder, but I could see someone who doesn't have strong hands, or grip, maybe even elderly, struggling to achieve the same results. My ability to apply a large amount of strength and pressure while turning the top section back and forth no doubt greatly assisted in achieving the results I got. You have to have pretty good hand grip/strength, because it takes several turns back and forth to grind up a pill, and because of its size, some might have trouble applying enough torque to grind the top back and forth. But for those who have average or better hand strength, it wouldn't of made it any more difficult to operate, if it was half this size. So I will use this in the mean time, until someone produces one that is ACTUALLY a "keychain" sized option, that holds maybe 5-10 pills (which is plenty for a day), and is half the weight, half the size, and doesn't feel like a piece of lead in your pocket or in your hand while you hold your keys. To all manufacturers out there, NOBODY has produced a proper mini-keychain pill holder/grinder. And if someone did, as there is ZERO competition, you'd sell a TON of them, and provide a solution for many people looking to carry around a few pills for the day, and still be able to grind up one or two to mix them in a drink, or whatever they need it for. Trust me. But in the meantime, I will settle for this. It at least does what it advertises, even if it's a bit more than necessary. After all, it still IS about the smallest pill storage/crusher you can get nowadays. So close.....it was ALMOST a perfect product 😉

GREAT
Surprisingly heavy. Does a great job of crushing tablets. Screws on securely so no worry about it spilling all over your bag. Storage compartment for extra tablets. The wire circle goes nicely over a carabiner in my bag too, so that makes it easy to find. I thought the price was steep before ordering, but the workmanship is superior and worth the cost. Looks like it will stand up to years of use!

A bit pricey for something that does not crush well.
Feels very heavy and sturdy. The water seal is nice as well. I have to crush a pill on a daily basis and it is not comfortable to use after so many days in a row. The pill will break down but will not crush into small powder. After several days of using it I still have not found a way to crush the pill properly. Prior to this purchase I was using a plastic pill crusher and it did the job just fine without hurting my hand. Over all it’s a nice tool but not effective and the key ring can get in the way.
