We recommend pets to stay out of treated area until dry. For the granules we recommend to water in and wait until dry for pets to reenter as well. **Q: I had sod installed and it has brown spots. Should I use this by itself?** A: Not really. This is for new grass and sod is pretty established. If you are in the middle of a drought....meaning high temps and no rain...I would put 4oz of dish soap into a hose end sprayer and add some soda that has sugar. Always brings it back for me. Not diet though. If you are having rain and temps aren't over 80....I'd go with ammonia in a hose end sprayer and it will give it more nitrogen than this product. Right now most fertilzers are just going to dry out your grass and kill it. Milorganite in pellet form would be a safe alternative if you can water it in completely with a sprinkler for 30 minutes. **Q: Will this burn the grass in summer heat?** A: It won't burn the grass just make sure you do it with alot of water afterwards.keep the grass seeds moist. Even better get some straw to cover the seeds. It will keep them moist. We use this..........
