Very nice and strong

Needed to add in a few more D-Ring anchors to my enclosed trailer and these were an exact match to what I already have. The screw they come with are a bit on the short side but they do seem to hold very well and have strapped a lot of cargo down with some force so they nothing will move around during transport. Installation was as simple as screwing in two screws and you are ready to anchor down almost anything.

This kit had everything I needed to install some great recessed deck tie down loops on my utility trailer. I liked that the backing plate was slightly offset. This allowed me to rotate it to fit against my frame. On another similar plate I got from the trailer retailer, the plate was centered…and I had to use an angle grinder to cut about 1/4” off that backing plate. This one was offset, so one side was closer to the edge. I put that edge near the frame, so the excess overhang was towards the inside of the trailer. The holes are NOT symmetrical, fyi. So doing that trick meant the eye loop folded laterally to the trailer. But that’s perfect for my application (center span tie town). The materials are good: galvanized steel and nylock nuts so they don’t rattle loose. Carriage bolts in a square hole, so one person can install them…even if you can only reach one side at a time (top or bottom). The hardest part was hogging out the wood so the recessed part would fit. The trailer guys said they just use a 3” hole saw and cut all the way thru. I am nervous to weaken the deck board by removing 50% of it. So, I only went down about 1” and used a router to hog out the cavity. And a little more by the bolt the eye loop rotates on to adjust the fit. Then drilled a 3/8” weeping hole all the way thru in the center for drainage. Put some copper stuff in there to avoid rot. That leaves 3/4” of wood thickness. This holds great on my other 4 similar tiedowns. First 4 I did with a hole saw and chisel. Next two I used a hole saw and router. I can’t say which was easier. Either way. These are great value and sturdy. I’d buy them again.

as other reviewers noted the back plate holes do not seem to line up easily. I think the holes are 3/8" and I just drilled the back plate holes out to 7/16" and it worked perfectly. Once that was done it installed easily and looks great. Installed the recessed D ring on my aluminum trailer and it looks great and works perfectly for what I need.
