Actually works!
Totally unexpected but it works as advertised! Wish cord was longer....it's only @2-3'

Decent for the money
This shows RPMs while the engine is running. When the engine is off, it defaults to displaying cumulative run time. My only gripe is that if you use double sided foam tape to affix this to your mower, chainsaw, ATV, etc., if you later want to remove it, you will have to use a screwdriver to pry it off and run the risk of separating the main housing from the back plate, exposing the guts inside. No big deal as you can just superglue it back together. If you do use foam tape, use lighter fluid or similar solvent to loosen the glue.

Affordable tach/hour meter
It works. No need to spend a fortune on other tach/hour meters. Very pleased with the first one I purchased but due to my own fault it came loose from where I chose to mount it and partially melted on the cylinder head. It still works but looked bad so I bought another. It's a quality product.

Tachometer is far from stable.
After doing a really nice and professional looking install I was very disappointed to see that the tachometer, which was the most important feature for me, is so wildly inaccurate. Although the numbers are easy to read there no way to get even an approximate accurate reading. I installed this on a 4 stroke 16hp Kohler motor in a Craftsman riding mower. There are only two rpm speeds on the engine that I'm interested in, and that's idle, and at full mowing speed. You can see why a tach would need to be somewhat accurate so you can adjust the idle circuit, and the correct full throttle rpm setting too.

Good shipping
It is what it is, a cheap tackometer , it works just don,t know how well yet

Works as advertised
Simple device. Works as expected. Allowed me adjust throttle linkages on my riding mower to achieve RPM range within engine mfgr spec. Wasn't going to leave it attached, but now I like seeing RPMs while I'm mowing and can monitor for changes in performance.

Nice gadget if you just knew what you were getting.
Just need a small tachometer for tuning small engines. This looks like a nice inexpensive tool. It's easy to use. You coil its lead around a plug wire 4 to 5 times. As the spark pulse goes through the spark plug wire, it generates a pulse in the units lead wire. The unit times the pulses and basically gives you pulses per minute. Pretty straight forward. The problem is, this unit comes in two flavors, 2 stroke and 4 stroke. It modifies the pulse count depending on which model you've got. See the attached photo. The problem is, the space on the product card that is supposed to tell you which version it is, is blank! If I compare the out put of this unit to a real tachometer on the same engine, I'll know if I have the 2 stroke or 4 stroke version. Once that's known it can be used on pretty much any combustion engine, regardless of cylinders and cycles (you'll just need to do some simple math). The hour meter function works well. This would be a good product if the manufacturer would put the appropriate information on the package (also note on package "2P1R= Factory set 4 Stroke", I pretty sure they meant 1P2R=4 Stroke). I give it three stars because of the frustration aspect.

Works well, easy to install
I installed this on 2 motocross bikes to track the engine hours so I can use as a gauge for maintenance. It appears to track accurately. It was easy to install. I just wrapped the wire 5-6 times around the spark plug wire and held it together with the supplied zip ties. I then slid it up the wire far enough so it wouldn't be exposed and couldn't get ripped off. I used 2 zip ties to secure the module to the frame where I could see it. Then cut the remaining wire and used a couple other zip ties to hold it with all the brake cables. Very clean set up. Seems to be made well. We'll see how long it lasts.

Easy install and works good
Installed on an EU2200i generator and worked perfect from the start. Time in 10th of an hour intervals, and while running shows RPM on the screen for nice information at a quick glance. Really cheap addition to run a maintenance schedule on your small engines on hour usage.

Good stuff for the price...
Very simple to use, follow the instructions and let it work for about 5 min to get a good reading.I found a variable from running your motors cold or hot +/- 40 rpm .Worked good on small motors ( chain saws, trimmers, mowers). All In all it did the job for keeping my small machines running close to targeted RPM.

Works well
Wire not necessary if you can get the unit within 1" of coil wire
