Will this work on a mirrored sliding closet door that I no longer like the look of?

If I put this paper on the ceilling, will it stay or will it fall off?

I've used fake wood contact paper for walls and ceilings, here is the method that's been rock solid so far -

1. Remove trim/moulding, outlet/switch covers (turn the breaker off if working around electrical please), light fixtures, etc.

2. Clean surface (light duty degreaser or dawn soap in warm water) and THOROUGHLY dry.

3. Cut each run of contact paper with at least two inches on both ends of excess. Make note the angle to give you a straight line during application.

4. Spray adhesive for a few feet where the run you are working on is going (I used the 14 oz can of gorilla adhesive off Amazon).

5. Apply contact paper by removing a few inches of the backing, place it on the surface, hold the remaining roll so it's about 45⁰ to 90⁰ from the surface and slowly pull a few inches of the backing off as you simultaneously apply it to the surface. This helps eliminates wrinkles on the first go. If you mess up there is still plenty of time before the adhesive spray cures so just taken it off, adjust, and continue on.

6. Spray another few feet, apply the rest to that run, repeat as needed.

7. Do the next run of contact paper til complete, then trim the excess off the edges. If you put the contact paper over an outlet or fixture opening, cut an "X" that is half the size of the opening, then slowly little by little cut away until the contact paper is flush around the receptacle and not covering any part of it (it WILL catch fire so please be safe here and don't allow excess, you want just enough that the fixture/cover overlaps over the contact paper to hide the seam).

8. Add trim/moulding, fixtures, covers, etc back and secure them (don't over do it because it'll crack the fixture/cover but normal pressure will help keep those edge in place).

This is where fake wood contact paper makes this rock!

9. Get 1/2 to 1 inch nails (like a brad nails but with a larger head) and hammer the nails on the "planks" ends so it blends right in, just looks like the nails in the boards. Do this to as many of the "planks" as you feel comfortable with. If renting, these will leave holes slightly larger than thumbtacks so they aren't huge.

10. If used on a wall - Let it cure for a few hours, preferably 24 hours, before adding decor back.

Enjoy, that thing isn't going anywhere!

How difficult is this to remove? I am in a rental

It's very easy to remove.
It's like a vinyl wrap that you can peel it off andc re-use it. It won't leave any adhesive trace on the surface.
