A godsend for any ostomy patient
We would prefer to buy these out of pocket than to use rings or paste approved and supplied by insurance. Easy to place, cut to exact size if your stoma (no one size fits all issue here), AMAZING skin friendly super adhesion (but easy to remove) for colostomy patients experiencing colostomy leaks and/or skin breakdowns. We initially used it to so we wouldn’t have to place the bag anywhere near her surgical wound bc her bag would always leak. It’s not a problem anymore! About the size of 1.5 standard sticky notes, so great area of protection. We’ve had ZERO bag leaks and her skin is back to normal (finally)! Wish we knew about these months ago!

So far Wow!
little nervous trying these- but i needed to do something as i can only get 1 day out of hollister pouches- read reviews of this sheet barrier, and folks said "Sticks like glue" "Hard to take off"- and yep- those reviews have been my experience so far. No more paste for me if these things work this well (I have only used 3 so far- first one i changed next day just to make sure it stuck and to see how well it stuck- wow was it stuck on- So i went 2 days- changed again to check how it was going- and all was well- so today is a 3'rd day, might go for 4 if i see it's ok looking- - I have never been able to get more than a day out of the modern hydrocoloid products- and rings like Eakins and other brands failed and were unreliable as my output is very liquid and always manages to eat away at the seals and cause them to fail- So far these Brava protective sheets have proven to be extremely effective- The only downside if you can call it that is that it is hard to remove as it really does 'stick like glue- The inside of the ring that comes up against ostomy will melt away within a day or two due to the heat coming off the ostomy- but barely- and it is protecting my skin great so far- I'm very careful not to touch the seal to the ostomy when applying so that fluid doesn't compromise the seal- but I am curios as to whether it might still stick if it gets wet- might try taking the inside circle that i cut out to try it-Anyways- So far- I woudl really recommend these IF you are having trouble with skin issues, or trouble with pouch seals not lasting a long time- for some reason regular pouch seals in one piece pouches just do not stick well to my skin- and i could only get 1 day's wear out of them - I always wished there was a product that woudl 'stick like glue' and so far- these sheets really seem to be the answer- The pouch seal also sticks to the other side of the sheet- which i wondered about because there was no adhesive, but the hydrocoloid really adheres well to it so far-Edit- Went 4 days- while i could have likely gone another day, possibly 2- odor was getting under the seal a bit (Not sure if i was imagining it- but even at day 3 i was getting whiff- day 4 was stronger)- and the seal had become white (Which is what it does when liquid hits it- it goes white and swell to absorb the liquid) out to about 1/2 inch from inner edge- and some effluent had discolored it dark color- so pushing it past 4 days would not be something I'd want to try- Also wouldn't want to go anywhere while on day 4 because of the smell issue-I have cut the hole smaller so it has tighter fit- will see how long the seal will last again- I would imagine it will help to keep the contents of pouch off skin and not working under the seal as quickly as before- Would be nice to have a product that could stick really well and be used on the inside circle of the seal/sheet to protect it even more from contact with contents-IF anything changes, and they seem to fail or whatever, I will update this review- but so far- I am more than pleased that i can go a couple of days now thanks to these sheets-Update- Tried going 3 days with one and woke up to a mess- the pouch seal did not stick to the Brava sheet seal- seems the Brava sheet has a bit of a waxy side that your pouch must try to stick to- and it failed to do so- In 30 years- I've never had failures before except in extreme conditions- after only a couple of uses with the Brava Sheet- I've already had a fail- Not sure i want to live with that uncertainty- Might go back to wearing my regular pouch and having to change every day- Was excited about being able to go several days, but not sure it'll be worth it if the product just randomly fails. I must mention however, that the sticky side of the Brava protective sheet that goes against the skin was still holding very well- no leaks, but it was the other side, that the pouch adheres to that leaked- IF there were a sure-fire way to secure the pouch to the Brava sheet- i think it would be very dependable- Lowering my Score to 3 stars for now because it failed to secure to the pouch seal-
