NOT TASTY
This product was so easy to prepare and looked delicious, even though I did not taste it. I prepared the twenty-four cupcakes following the directions on the box. They were small and just the right size for my Yorkie. However, she did not care for them at all. In fact, one smell and she turned her back on me. I purchased the red velvet cake and read the ingredients. It uses beets for the coloring, so if your furbaby does not care for beets, I would not purchase this particular flavor.

Good but lacking in icing
I got this for my dog’s first birthday party and made cupcakes. He and his sister absolutely loved them!! The only thing I will say is I don’t know what they were thinking with the icing proportion. I followed the instructions and mixed the water in but it made very little icing. Barely enough to even use on 2 cupcakes and the batter made 8, so I had to improvise and add peanut butter and whipped cream. Was still a hit. Another thing I will say is while I didn’t notice any diarrhea or loose stools from eating the cake, it does cause their pee to turn almost brownish red. At first I was concerned one of my dogs was peeing blood but remembered it was most likely from the red dye of the cake.

My dogs loved this flavor
This is the 3rd flavor that my 6 dachshunds have tried. They seemed to love the red velvet the best so far. I make them into cupcakes in the large muffin tin and make 6 big cupcakes every time. They did stick to the liner for some reason with this flavor, but not too bad. We cut them in half and serve half to each dog. They ate them so fast that we could barely get the next dog's bowl on the floor before the previous dog was done with theirs. We keep the leftovers in the refrigerator and serve them the other half within the next day or two. Editing to add: This turned one of my dog's urine red. He is 14 and it startled me. There is a beet product in it. Just a forewarning so you don't think your dog is urinating blood.

Worked perfectly!
I got this another year and it fell apart a bit, but that was probably my own fault, maybe I didn't measure the ingredients perfectly, didn't cook long enough, etc. This time, it baked perfectly and had a nice texture. I baked it in two rather small bread pans, then used a knife to shave off the top of one to get a flat surface, put some icing on there and stuck the other on top for a two-tiered birthday cake. I didn't do a great job of icing it, but I doubt the dogs care! Box says that the extra can go in the fridge for a few days. I felt there was plenty even for two dogs, also I bought doggie ice cream, though. Red Velvet has a very nice deep red color thanks to it really being beet flavor. I think I've bought a different flavor each year for a few years now.

Dogs Love It
I get a box of this stuff every year for my dogs' birthdays, and they love it. The box shows directions for a cake, full-size cupcakes, and mini-cupcakes. My dogs are larger (45 and 75 lbs) and I like to stretch this out over a few days, so I do full-size cupcakes. Icing mix is included, but it's a little thin - I just add a couple of tablespoons of unflavored 2% Greek yogurt to bulk it up and give it a healthy probiotic boost. These keep for several days in the fridge, but I will note that if you frost them in advance of serving, the red from the cupcakes will bleed into the white icing and turn it pink - if you don't want pink frosting, I'd recommend not frosting them until right before you serve them.
