Works great. When using must move dish very slow up or down / left or right to get the strongest signal. Once your locked in and have the dish secure remove the finder and reconnect the cables and check the tv. Tv will not work with finder connected.

Save your money
I bought this item to assist in setting my dish antenna as we move to different locations about every 30 days do to work. It worked the 1st month, January. It didn't work the next month, but I was able to get s signal by guessing. The third move or March's move couldn't use it as we were parked in the middle of a live oak forest and never find a signal. Tried again in both April and May, no results. Appears to be burned out, lights up but sound or signal. I guess it was waste of money. The 30 day warranty is a joke if you only use once per month.

It did NOT get me right on alignment but it got me close enough to where I could fine tune it
After Upgrading my Dish from a SD def to HD def quality (3-LNB) i tried to aim the dish by eyeballing it and a compass. However this failed after a day of trying. So I ordered this item. It did NOT get me right on alignment but it got me close enough to where I could fine tune it. Both of my SAT tuners on the DVR are receiving roughly a 97% signal. My area also had 8 inches of rain in the last 3 days. Only lost the sat signal a few times in and out occassionally for a few hours. But that is normal. Overall this item should help you get close to the right spot in alignment and it is worth the 11 dollars. Side NOTE: When installing and searching for the Satellite dish in the sky you will need to remove this digital finder once the ALT is lowered and more accurate. This will allow the DVR to acquire signal and show the true % of signal being acquire. At least in my situation this was the case. With this piece still in line between the dish and receiver i was unable to complete sat setup and DVR settings.

easy to use analog signal meter that works well
I had to do a DIY repair to my old analog dish - replacing a damaged LNB - and I wanted a meter to both check that the dish was pointed properly, that signal strength was good and to verify that the receiver was providing power... this meter works with analog sats and LNB - it's powered by the receiver and it's easy to use... I may not need this thing again unless we move but it was worth buying even for a single use situation. I imagine this would be everyday useful if you are camping or living mobile and just can't not have sat tv

Just OK
It works OK....but I wish I would have bought an analog one.1. The compass doesn't work at all. I can make north face any direction I want to because it really doesn't rotate.2. The beeping is great and give you a general idea of what's going on without looking at the meter.3. Even after adjusting the meter, it seems as though the Guage is all or nothing. It'll jump for 67% to 99% but not go anywhere in between. It'll be begged at 99% during 5° of rotational adjustment. I ended up just finding the low end and high end where the beeing completely stopped and then adjusting so I was in the middle of the two. This is why I think the analog Guage may be more accurate in fine tuning.
