Worked great for the first few months. Now it doesn’t work aall. Tried taking it apart and cleaning it but no luck.

I have used this sand cleaner several times now and found it to be 100% worth the money. The long tube is perfect for the height of my 3ft tall 160G tank. (It can be trimmed to fit for shorter tanks.) It is plenty long enough to reach to the back places in my tank. The diameter of the tube, about an inch, is just the right size to slip into tight spots for a good cleaning. The soft silicon drain tube supplied is very flexible and makes the cleaning process super easy because you are not dealing with a stiff drain tube like other cleaning kits. I find that I can easily control the suction with a little pinch of the soft drain tube in one hand while working the cleaning tube with the other. I pinch the tube just so to allow good draw on the sediment while allowing the sand to settle back. I could not be more pleased with the results. I find I am able to easily control sand scattering; thus making the cleaning a very controlled process without leaving sand all over the corals. The pump on the end of the tube works very well, a few pumps gets the flow going. The kit comes with a drain tube clip and a spare. The clip is super handy for holding the drain tube in the waste water bucket. I also use it to clip the tube to the handle at the pump when storing it way. This makes it nice as the tube is not just laying on the floor in the closet. The shovel-nosed adapter for the end makes for a gentler sand cleaning. However, I found it would take a while for the sand that had been drawn into the tube to slowly fall back out. My preference is to use the cleaner with just an open tube at the end. It works great like that. I believe the shovel-nosed adapter would be perfect for fresh water tanks with gravel. Overall, the product very well thought out and allows me to complete a mess free water change with very little cleanup afterwards. I never get my hands wet in the process. If sand cleaning is not part of your reef tank maintenance, then it should be. Sand cleaning can be a messy chore, but this product makes it super easy and not a chore at all.

The water flow wasn't too great, but it did a great job of cleaning out my gravel. unfortunately, the plastic connected piece started breaking after only a few uses.

Bought this product because I have a 75 Gallon Fish tank that I have my turtle named Franklin in. I have a self-feeder and a relatively industrial-sized filter to clean the tank, but the tank was getting almost a nasty yellow tint, and thought my turtle would be dead in days. To my surprise, my greedy little turtle doesn't eat the food pellets and a large number of food flakes pile at the bottom, which I believed to be the problem. I originally bought a hose to take all the tank water out, but that didn't work. So I went ahead and bought this product and it works exactly as advertised. It got the job done and helped clear almost 80-90% of the crap on the bottom of the tank. I Will have to use it often, but as soon as I removed the remnants of food and replaced the water, the tank looked much better. I would suggest buying for anyone that needs to get stuff out from the bottom of the tank without having to suck all the water out. Unfortunately, it does also suck a lot of water out, but replacing that water with new water will probably do your aquatic specimens some good.TLDR; worth it to suck the remnants of food and crap off the bottom of your tank. Quick and Easy.

Worked great the first couple of times. Now it requiresich more effort and it doesn't work as promised.

Just used for the first time today, and I’m very happy with it! Initially I thought it was going to be too small for my 55 gallon tank, but it was perfect. I gave it 4/5 stars for suction, because the suction is a touch weak and I’m sure some folks won’t be happy with it, but I personally like it’s strength. It’s strong enough to remove the detritus but the flow is slow enough where it offers me a lot of control. This way I can focus the vacuum on the dirtier parts of the gravel and do some “detailed” cleaning without turning around every 3 seconds fearing my bucket is full. It comes with tubing clamps, which were super useful. Clamp down the tubing when you have to dump your bucket, open the clamp again and it restores suction without having to prime the vacuum again. And the little priming mechanism worked perfect. Press the accordion-like mechanism half a dozen times and you’re in business. Beats having to submerge the entire tube and all the hose to create the vacuum (all the while scaring the HELL out of your fish).I’m completely happy and I don’t dread a water change anymore!!!

This is our second pump we've purchased, our first one worked quickly but broke after just a few uses. So I bought this one hoping spending a little more would give a better product.Pros:This has great suction, I was able to clean the gravel. The hose will suck up the gravel but the food and water will filter through and drain out. When the hose starts to fill with gravel, you just need to squeeze the bulb quickly and hard and it will blow it back out.Easy to use, just have to squeeze the bulb quickly in order to get a good suction, once it gets through the hose and through the pump and starts emptying out the other hose, you can just leave it alone and it will drain out.The clips are wonderful. I hooked them on my fish tank and onto the bucket and just let it drain. This was so helpful, other pumps, without the clips, always flip out and spill water onto the ground, its nice to be hands free.Cons:If the water that you are draining into is higher, equal or just under what you are suctioning from, it drains really slowly. I had to hold the bucket over my head to get a quicker suction, this was after it stopped suctioning a few times and I had to hand pump it. But this was only during the last little bit of the water, where it became around the same height as what was in the tank.Overall I really like this pump but I have only used it once. If this changes, I will edit this to reflect that.

This is amazing! I've had a few, but this is so simple, and so effective. I have 2 tanks and the connection tubes make it suitable fir small and large tanks. Theres no mess ..the clips cone to hold pipes in place if needed. Two short pushes on the top and thats enough to get it going. I have sand and the sand doesn't come through or get jammed, yet doesn't stop the flow either its just fantastic.

It’s not a bad tank cleaner, it’s lasting okay at the moment. But I don’t think it’s going to last to long! The suction is a job, even with the button on top, once it’s sucking and doing it’s job it’s fairly good. But saying that it was easier for me as I have weak wrists, than the pump ones. Not a bad price, my last one was twice the price and lasted two cleans. The tubes not to wide, which is good as I have one 90l and also a 110l tank, so it gets round them quite nicely. Again the other one I had, was wider and clumpy. It’s a shame we can’t get the suction tubes slightly smaller still, to work round plants and other obstacles. But overall, pleasantly surprised that it’s working as well as it is, for the money. Would possibly buy another one of these if the one I have desires to pack up. So all in all fairly good!

Wonderful gravel vacuum. Very sturdy and easy to assemble, extra points for the extension. It made cleaning my fish tank much easier and more pleasant. The tube is made out of a good quality material and it does not break when bent. Very easy to start the pumping by pressing the little pump OR by dipping the end of the vacuum into water a few times. Comes with a few extra bits, like one to slow down the water flow rate and one to attach the end to the bucket to avoid water spills. Definitely recommend it.

The suction is excellent, I usually have to use a net to scoop out poo and bits of plant but it sucked it up and I could shake it out when I was done. Normally when I do a water change the water goes cloudy as bits of muck get disturbed but this sucked it all straight away and the water stayed clear. It doesn't feel very expensive so could break easily I'd say so will look after it but so much better then my old one.

I like it. The syphon tube is quite thin so it removes water a little slower than others I've had. This works as a positive as you don't have to dash around to clean the gravel before too much water is removed. I removed the little filter at the top of the tube as it blocks pretty quick. Once I'd done that it's perfect. It also has a long hose so it'll reach longer distances if needed. Happy with it
