The Three Bears

Well chewed copy of the classic tale
I ordered this from London Bridge Books as 'used' but in 'good condition'. I only paid £2.81 including p&p so I suppose I can't really gripe, however, being pedantic as I often am, I personally would not sell a book that had been so well chewed by a baby that it had a bite taken out of the top. I would not class that as 'good condition'. But maybe that's just me and I'm being picky. Having got that off my chest, this is obviously a well known classic story, simply told with charming old fashioned illustrations of rather scary looking big dark looming bears and a tiny dissatisfied looking Goldilocks. I will update this review once I've had the chance to read it to the 2 year old I look after and see what he thinks. I'll have to tell him Daddy Bear started eating the book!

Well loved by two happy monkeys
I love the little golden book collection. They are lovely little books on a budget. The story is a timeless classic and both my boys love having the story at bed time (every night for a month so far!) Would reconmend.

Story badly written and missing parts, book flimsy and cheaply made
The book is super thin. was expecting a sturdy enough book but the pages are very low quality. Yes, it's just around $6 but it's worth more like $1 and the publisher can still profit because it's so cheaply made. The story is missing major parts. This is a huge disappointment. I saw other reviews mentioning this but just thought, what can you expect for $6, well obviously very little. The drawings are interesting and different but the story is really bad, I end up filling in the missing parts when I read it.

... is definitely one of my 2 yr old sons favorite books these days
This is definitely one of my 2 yr old sons favorite books these days. He ignored it for the first few months it was around but now he loves it. I think perhaps he likes it extra because of the way I read it, doing very different voices for the narrator and the three bears. You can do a deep voice for papa bear, high squeeky voice for baby bear, etc. I gave it four stars though, not five, because the way the matched the story to the pictures is a little odd and sometimes you are reading about what happened on the last page or what will happen on the next page, so sometimes I just change it a bit, the way I am reading it.
