From the moment you open this work, the book and story of the musical Hamilton, you know you are about to read quality. I could go on and on about the beautiful writing but anyone who knows anything about me or Hamilton knows that the passion will just pour out.Each chapter of the behind the scenes story is full of the rich exciting creativity that you expect from any of Lin-Manuel Miranda's projects - the co-author Jeremy McCarter clearly shares the wonder for the show that pours out of every page, but the surprising thing is that every footnote, written by Miranda, alongside the lyrics are also filled with exuberant joy.I have listened to the cast CD too many times to count but I know that the next time will be better just for know we long the sheer amount of work that went into this phenomenon.Every action really is an act of creation.

I bought the hardback version for my partner who is absolutely enchanted by this book.Inside it details the writing, production and performance of Hamilton the musical but also the history of the story too, including some amazing artefacts and historical letters written by the man himself !The photos are what really makes this book though with some amazing behind the scenes documentary style photographs through to full on performance shots of the musical performance.If you're even just a casual Hamilton fan this is an absolute bargain and a must read book.If you're considering buying this for a Hamilton fan as a gift then I'd definitely say go for it. Out of the Hamilton merchandise out there this is the one that stands out as absolute quality. Put it in your purchase list and snap it up!

I bought this book for my daughter. She's a big Hamilton fan and I thought she'd like the content, which she does...The book itself is absolutely beautiful.. It is a hardback, bound to look like an old book, with lovely rough-cut pages.It makes the book so pleasing to hold and to look at.A fabulous book to give as a present :-)

Haven’t got round to reading much of this yet but what I have read so far has been amazing! I love the look and feel of this book, it almost has a kind of handmade feel to it. This has so much information in, I’m really enjoying reading all the little annotations on the song lyrics and Lins personality really comes through in the text!There is also a ton of information about the show itself and it’s really interesting.A must buy for any Hamilton fan!

For a fan hoping to enrich their collection, this book is the perfect addition. It looks exactly like the pictures and is bigger than I expected. It is clearly well-crafted and has a classy design for both its cover and spine.The contents are interesting and follow the creation of the musical in the chronological order of the musical numbers. There are numerous illustrations ranging from professional shots of the performers and casual group photos to photocopies of Lin's handwritten notes and letters penned by Hamilton.Personally, I was only looking to purchase the complete book and lyrics of Hamilton in order to study its composition, therefore, this book was less practically useful than I'd hoped (the lyrics were broken down and inserted in different sections of the book, and it's clear that visual appeal trumped structural readability in the making of this book). Admittedly, that's on me entirely, and even so, the book is still a brilliant read. I'd fully recommend this purchase for any Hamilton fan.
