Great buy
This scale is awesome . I’ve tried several other scales, including some of the top brands, and this thing works better than all of them. Highly recommend it. It reads fast and also does a pretty good job with very small amounts. I was surprised at that because most big kitchen scales don’t do well with a few grams But this one did. Highly recommend. It’s also nice that you can plug this thing in and you don’t need batteries.

Super accurate and repeatable. The best!
I love this scale. After searching and reading I settled on this one and am Glad I did. The weight measured is absolutely perfect every single time, and repeatable every single time. No fluctuations at all! Even on grams! It is well thought out and you can see how durable they made it. I know there are sleek and futuristic looking scales out there...but for accuracy and room to work and all that, you can not beat this scale! All the other reviews say the same thing. There is a reason! If you need a scale with perfect calibration and function this is it. It has many modes as well, Lb., grams, oz., etc...

A scale with a reliable power source
I bought this scale primarily for weighing out quantities of ingredients used in making violin varnish. The capacity of up to 8 kg makes it ideal for the amounts that I need to weigh. Additionally, I like the fact that this scale uses a plug-in power transformer instead of having to rely on batteries. There will be long periods where I will not use the scale, and unused batteries tend to seep chemicals over time which will corrode the terminals. This scale seems to be rather rugged and designed for durability. The digital readout is large, but being an LCD, I have to stand at the correct angle to see the numbers at the greatest contrast with the gray background.

Not quite what I expected, but overall a good scale.
I've been having problems finding the right digital scale. I bake all my own breads, buns, pizza doughs, etc so scales get a lot of use, but nothing seems to be able to handle the rigors of my kitchen.I have gone through a few of the cheap Taylor brand scales, which seem to conk out on me about every 6 months or so. I next tried the popular OXO brand scale, but I accidentally spilled water on it and the display went on the fritz. I need something that can handle my sometimes-clumsy nature.I ended up picking this one up and overall I like it. I was a little disappointed that it's mostly plastic because it looks like stainless in the picture and it's labeled as a stainless scale in a misleading way, but at this price that seemed too good to be true so I wasn't surprised. The only stainless bit is the outer layer for the platform where you place your goods. What I like:- Fairly fast response. It's not as fast as the OXO, but it's way faster than the cheaper Taylors I had before (even on the fastest setting it's not as fast as the OXO).- Very easy to read, and I prefer the elevated platform over the pull-out mechanism of the OXO.- Ability to keep display on indefinitely, also has various settings for display shut-off time.- Ability to plug into a wall (also supports batteries).- I like the plastic guard, it seems like it will protect the display. I also like that when you lift it up, it stays in place, so if I'm having to tare often I don't have to keep lifting it up.- Seems accurate enough for my needs. What I'm not a huge fan of:- It's super lightweight and slides around on my counter too easily. Putting a towel under it helps, but I wish it was more stable.- While it is accurate enough for most of what I do, I find that it's not great if you have to do something like measure a single gram. It will go from 0 to 2, for example.- While this doesn't affect me because I don't require extreme precision, I have noticed that it will display slightly different weights if I re-weigh something. For example, if I have a cup with water and it weighs, say, 510 grams, sometimes if I remove it and put it back on the scale it will say 509 or 511.- The instructions ask to calibrate it with a standardized weight, and what everyday person has something like that on hand? I tested it with objects that have known weights (like nickels) and it seems accurate out of the box, so it doesn't seem like an issue, but it's worth pointing out.I would look up how to change settings, or read the manual. It's not intuitive but some settings can be changed, such as shut-off time (I have seen reviewers mention that it can't be changed for indefinite time, but it certainly can). That sounds like a lot of cons for a 4-star review, but most of them don't really affect me on a day-to-day basis so they're not dealbreakers. If something changes then I will update my review!
