GO AHEAD, COMMIT TABOO
When I saw the place holder cover on this book I assumed it must have been a third rate offer. WRONG! In fact, I wonder if all Kindle books shouldn't be required to use that cover; that way the book and the description would have to stand on its own and buyers wouldn't be mislead by a sexy scene on the cover, that didn't carry over to the inside pages.Apparently, Grant Allen wrote this book back in 1890 and someone has submitted it Kindle Books. If this person is identified, I missed it. Whichever era it was written in, this is a story that will grab you and make you not want to put it down, if you can only stick around through the second chapter. I'm not saying the first chapters were boring, I'm saying I had no trouble stopping to do something else then coming back to them. Someplace along then I got caught up and didn't want to put it down.Felix jumps into Pacific Ocean to save Murial Ellis, who has been washed overboard by a rogue wave, near the south seas island of Boupari. God is with him and Felix manages to grab hold of a couple of the life belts, thrown after them by a quick witted sailor, before the night envelops them. Realizing there is slim hope for the ship's rescue boat to find them, Felix and Murial swim toward the refection a great fire on the island.God, luck, or both are with them and they wash ashore, only to discover they are on an island inhabited by cannibals, who have their own ideas about how to welcome their guest. Buy this book now and travel back to a simpler time, yet a time fraught with danger for all who would commit the GREAT TABOO.
