Excellent Filters!
I purchased a couple sets of these since I was able to get them for much less than the filters I had been buying at my local hardware store. I was really glad to be able to find filters that were rated using the MERV rating system, as some brands do not rate this way. MERV 12, by the way, is a REALLY GOOD rating when it comes to air/furnace filters. Almost everyone would not need a filter with a higher MERV rating. By the way, I wouldn't choose a filter with a MERV rating of less than 12 if you have particularly dirty air inside your home (pets, high traffic, etc.) and you don't have a separate standalone air purifier. They've been installed for a couple weeks now and they already look like they need changed. My previous filters would take at least a month until they started to look that dirty. So I suppose they are doing their job and removing more particulates from the air. My only concern is that with the higher MERV rating, the weaving of the fabric is tighter, which could potentially restrict air flow. So I'm just worried that my HVAC will be working harder to pull in the air, therefor raising my energy costs. It is really hard to tell at this point in time, however, since the AC has been running a lot more the last couple weeks because of the rising temps outside. One last note (and my only CON)---these filters seems to run a tad bit smaller than some other brands. I had to use some packing paper to jimmy in between the edges of the filters and the filter frames so they would stay in place. Just a thought if you are dead-set on getting the perfectly sized filters.Anyway, I would definitely recommend these filters to anyone and everyone---especially if you can get them at a great price. I'll be buying more when I run out.

Very expensive and very worth it.
Lots of dust and bad air where I am and this does an excellent job. They are NOT cheap but neither is a trip to the doctor for allergy issues or a sinus infection. Very noticeable increase in air quality so they are worth it. Best to also get a HEPA filter or two for around the house to clear dust out of the air so it won't go into the HVAC to begin with.Yes, expensive but absolutely worth it, quantifiably and noticeably better air quality.

Nordic Pure website explains why filter frames are not labeled with MERV rating!
At first glance, the filters seem well constructed and fit well in the filter box. Will update as I get a feel for capture performance. For those complaining about the smaller size, the nominal is only there to grossly categorize filter dimensions. You have to look at your original filter actual size and match your replacement to this actual size. I, myself, had bought 3M filters that were actually too big for my filter box and had to return. The Nordic Pure filters fit perfectly. Also, I did some digging on the Nordic Pure website and found this in the FAQ for those concerned about the lack of PN and specifications (e.g. MERV rating) on the individual filter frames:"My filters arrived and the cardboard frame doesn’t show the dimensions or the MERV. Why is that? How do I know the MERV in my filter is really the MERV that I ordered? In our factory, we hand assemble all of our air filters, using only one MERV filter media at a time. If we are assembling MERV 12, then only MERV 12 are boxed and marked as MERV 12. The same goes for all of our other MERVs. If you ordered a MERV different than 12, you ought to have a colored sticker on the seal of the box, as follows:MERV 7 - grayMERV 8 - purpleMERV 10 - yellowMERV 11 - roseMERV 12 – blue (most common MERV; often has no sticker)MERV 13 - greenMERV 14 - tealMERV 15 – orangeOur clean, white templates, or outer cardboard frames, are kept non-specific to save on manufacturing cost. That’s why they are not stamped or labeled individually."

Excellent Filters
With three large dogs, two birds and one cat we always had a problem with dust even with trying some of high dollar brand filters, these filters with the carbon work great, cut the house dusting chore by 90% and we get a little longer life from the filter six to eight between changes while the other brands was changing every two to four weeks.. I wait for a sale then stock up for eight to twelve months, great filters, good pricing, less maintance on my unit, I'll be fan of these for a long time...
