This kit has everything you need to get started painting with Bob! It includes a 2 inch brush, 1 inch brush, fan brush, a fine point brush, and a mixing/sculpting knife. The colors in the kit includes: midnight black, phthalo blue, sap green, van dike brown, bright red, titanium white, crimson red, and cad yellow. The kit also includes liquid white, a less firm paint used to prime the canvass right before painting with the thicker colors. The kit does not includes other colors that bob uses in some of his works. These colors include: dark senana, Indian yellow, yellow orchard , phthalo green and prussian blue. You can getaway without using these colors while painting with Bob. You could also buy these colors separately online. Lastly, you could buy these colors at your local art store. Make sure they are firm paints except for the highlight colors that bob uses. These paints specifically maid to be thinner. If you do buy thick highlight colors that are not bob's brand, you can thin the paints using paint thinner or adding liquid white to the mix. The highlights are thin due to the fact that a thin paint will stick to a thick paint. When you highlight, it usually over the thicker paint you have already laid on the canvass. lastly, the kit includes a 1 hour DVD that explains what each brush does and a step by step tutorial on how to paint one of bobs peaces (direct episode from "the joy of painting"). This kit is a great value! It includes everything you need to paint with and like Bob. This was the first time I have ever painted. The attached photos are my first and second paintings I did with the Bob Ross Master Paint Set kit. -It is worth noting Bob uses a double primed canvass. Because the art supply stores i went to did not have double primed, I just used a white Jesso over the canvass to prime it a second time. Happy painting!

What a difference good paint makes! I love this set. Especially after watching him on BBC4 week nights! This set has helped me paint lots of happy little accidents - that look amazing! I’ve never taken art classes but can’t believe what I’ve created so far. The paints are good sizes and you really don’t need a lot. The colour quality is rich and vibrant. Brushes and knife a pleasure to work with.

For Bob Ross landscape paintings, this set is good value. Looking at buying the individual brushes alone + the knife would cost almost as much as the set. Also this gets you 1/2 of the paints you require and you can still make 4 paintings just with the colors included in the set. The quality of the brushes and knife in the set is very good, along with the paints are high quality as well. You will still need a canvas, cleaning supplies, an easel and other products, but this set is probably one of the 3 main expenses you need to get started (the other 2 being the easel and the remaining paints). The packaging and feel of this product is very good. I have painted a lot of latex and oil based painting and the brush quality of this set is high quality. I did note some complaints from reviewers stating you cannot paint one of the paintings in the DVD video, however they do provide written and visual instructions in the set on how to paint the scene using only the colors contained in the set. I do think as a starting set for landscape painting you would be hard pressed to find a better starting kit than this that has everything you need to be ready to paint.

Mi piace disegnare e dipingere. Questo materiale è di ottima qualità, anche se è piuttosto costoso e se purtroppo il diluente inodore per pulire i pennelli non è incluso. Nel set è presente anche un DVD con una registrazione del pittore Bob Ross che mostra nel dettaglio la tecnica del "wet on wet" ("alla prima"). Lo consiglio.
