Yo, dawg! I heard you like lots of pieces!
I like the overall fit and finish of the product. It is a serious commitment to assemble, and 5 hours is a pretty good estimate of time involved. The organization advantages of the product make it more likely that we will continue to play Gloomhaven and play more often because we aren't making looking for all the little bits in a dozen different plastic bags.Things I liked: All of the wood pieces fit together well with only a small amount of warping on some of the very long side strips. I also like how almost everything is labeled or has an intuitive design so all of the game pieces find their place pretty quickly and easily. Assembly was straight forward with no real skill requirements, patience though is a virtue. Once everything was glued and dried, all the game components fit into their assigned places and fit the box pretty well considering how much extra material went back into it.Things I would improve: more acrylic inserts for monster actions so each creature type has its own divider. I would like a larger instruction manual. The pictures were sometimes a little difficult to decifer, especially on the more complex modules like the monster box. More and longer rubber bands. some of the big trays had me worried I was going to bust a band stretching them to put tension a corner joint, and the player boxes could use two or three bands each when you're putting those together.

One of the best Gloomhaven organisers out there!
First off - this is definitely one of the more expensive organisers you can buy, but I would say it's worth the price. There's clearly a lot of thought that's gone into knowing how to group the various components into suitable trays. The Status Token and Summon Token trays have a great feature where one end of the tray pulls out to form a stand (see photos) and it makes it easy to then slide the tokens out of their holder. The clear Perspex lids on the small map tile trays and the monster trays are excellent (and having the names of the monsters etched in to the lid is really useful). The cards tray is thoughtfully designed and also has perspex dividers with etched descriptions in them, as well as an ingenious ratcheted rail that really helps when flipping through the card types. A few people have had issues with the large map tiles tray, but once you watch the video on Smonex YouTube channel and mentally realise it should have been video'd from the point of view of the person putting the tiles in the tray rather than watching it "upside down", it's then makes sense and does sit flush (see my photos). The wood-stained effect of the wood really fits the feel of the game too. When stowed in the Gloomhaven box, the lid sits about 1 inch higher, but it's not an issue as the contents are still sat level on the top tray.As for construction, it did take me 4 evenings to assemble, and requires more rubber bands than are supplied (plus the wood glue). I would say pay attention when building the character trays as I accidentally put the perspex in the wrong way on two of them and had to pull it apart again before the glue had fully set.If Smonex are considering making a Frosthaven organiser, I'm fairly sure I'd buy that too!

This does take a while to assemble if you do it correctly, but when done you will love it.
Glue each section, wait for it to dry, make sure cover fits before you let it dry. I used clamps to hold it together while it dried so it took me 1 day per section. So 7-8 days I think I did not even try to rush it as I just took my time. I build models for games so it was not hard and I do it very perfection to make sure it works well. Covers have plastic protectors and you can peel them when done. Instructions seemed forward, but I can see if you are not used to it you can get confused as to which end points which way. Also which game item goes in which slot.I absolutely have to agree this is a great product.

Great - needs patience.
Once everything is assembled this looks great though some elements can be quite a bit of a pain to put together. Other reviews have suggested clamps for holding things together - in hindsight this would have made the job much easier - though I was able to complete with just the included elastic bands.Cotton buds I found are a must to collect leaking glue in tricky areas. The instructions also could do with improvement to make things a bit clearer - again double and triple check placement - I found connecting all elements without glueing first useful to get a sense of where parts go and ensure everything is the correct way round.I am happy with the end result and it certainly makes storage and access to the many Gloomhaven elements much easier. I particularly like the character holders.Within the varying parts were 2 arrows / pointers which I seemingly have no idea what they are for and do not appear to be referenced in the instructions.

Definitely recommend!!
Beautiful product. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.Pros:-Wood stain is beautiful, and the acrylic dividers definity elevate the quality of this insert.-There seems to be a spot for everything. (One reviewer says the hp/exp tracker doesn't fit anywhere but it actually sits inside of the character trays.)-Cards dividers are labeled so the cards are easy to find. There is even a labeled spot for cards you lose from the game. It is great that all the cards are all together. (When putting in the dividers, be mindful that the front of the tray has the empty spot for the token trays. The acrylics will lay back from this side, as the track underneath is closer to the front creating more space for the cards when facing this way.)-The trays for monsters and overlay tiles have holes in the bottom so you can pop the whole stack out from their spot. I also found this helful on the double sided overlay tiles, so you can look through the bottom to see the other sides instead of flipping over every tile.- Character trays are very clever and have a special space on top for your characters conditions.- The kit comes with rubber bands to set the pieces, and small pieces of sandpaper to smooth off rough edges.Cons:- There is not a comprehensive guide for where all the pieces go. Watch their YouTube video to see clearer images of how to place your pieces, but its really easy to adjust anything you may have placed incorrectly within the first few scenarios and won't inhibit gameplay. You will also need to look up which monster is which to place them in the tray, or you could probably match their images from the monster stat cards to the labels on the tray lid.- The character tray lid is a little tight where the character mat goes. You'll have to be careful pushing these in.- There is ONE typo in the instruction manual in regards to which sheet of pieces you need. If you are paying attention, this shouldn't be an issue, as the sheet is pretty distinct.- I had an issue with the acrylic lid for the monster tray not fitting without causing the tray to warp. This is where I can vouch for Smonex customer service. I reached out to the company directly through their website and they were quick to respond and try to help me troubleshoot the issue. Though I could not get the lid to fit, they are sending me a replacement. I will update this when I receive that piece. They also sent me their monster stands free for my trouble. Great company trying to do right by their customers!! (This is a Pro!)- It will take quite a while to put this together and you will need glue. DO NOT FEAR THE GLUE! You will never notice it. This was my first insert and I was surprised how well it came together. But if you follow the instructions, you will need to build it twice, once without glue, and once with.-You'll need some patience to get the protective plastic off the acrylic around the letters and symbols. The sheets peel off well but where the labels are lasered in, you'll need to pick the plastic out.Overall:I have not tried to put everything back in the box, but will update for how that goes. Most of the Cons are incredibly nit-picky and this is overall a great product. Compared to the other products out there, the price seems right on. You're not just paying for a great organizer, you're getting something that looks really nice. I purchased this product before there were any reviews and was very impressed. I do not regret spending 100 dollars on this! It makes game setup quick and the pieces you need during play are easily at hand.
