The Precipice: Neoliberalism, the Pandemic and the Urgent Need for Social Change

Insightful and Terrifying
Chomsky once again delivers a scathing commentary, and analysis of our modern day Capitalist-run world. This book highlights specifically the Trump era and it’s massive faults; this should be mandatory reading for the average American. It is a huge wake up call.

A Good Read
This book in Q&A form is Chomsky at his best. The font is quite small making it at times hard to read. If not for that, I would have rated it 5 stars.

Should be required reading for all Americans
With Noam's exce!!ent analysis, we can clearly see the facetious American claims of "the divine origin" of the Constitution as well as American exceptionalism.

It's Chomsky
If you haven't read Chomsky, then you aren't as well read as you think. Just read it.

Maybe
I bought this because Noam Chomsky wrote it, and I used to read everything he wrote. This time I was disappointed. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I missed something. But I didn't get much out of it.

The Precipice, a book for everyone who considers democracy important.
"The Precipice", is a series of interviews of Noam Chomsky by C.J. Polychroniou, covering the Trump years.Whilst I personally subscribe to most of the political principles of Noam Chomsky, I do believe that this book should also be compulsory reading for everyone with different views, but who also regards democracy as important. The factual information in this book points indeed to the immediate dangers that neo-liberalism, racism, pandemics and ultra-right populist movements bring to our world.Chomsky’s analyses are, as always thorough and to the point. However, despite all the negatives, he is hopeful for the future as there is a [fast] growing movement, of mostly younger people, acting, demonstrating against neo-liberalism, racism and fighting for justice and democratic principles. This book should be read by everyone, interested in understanding the imminent dangers our world faces.

excellent interviews???? micro font
There is another person who has commented on this issueThis book (the Penguin version, printed in Australia) has a micro font. What is the point of buying a book that produces eyestrain? This is neoliberalism in action. The whole point of a book is to read it. The point of a book to a neoliberal publishing house is to sell it as cheaply as possible, despite the health consequences....Can those who wrote this book, also complain to the publisher. The couple of interviews I read before my eyes gave out seemed as good as ever....

Ottimo!
Noam Chomsky rimane un gigante della linguistica, ma tutti i suoi libri, anche non strettamente su linguistica e linguaggio, meritano attenzione!
