3 ur old loved, til it broke.
My 3 yr old son is afraid of the dark. He would take a regular flashlight to bed so he could have a light when he needed it. For Christmas we requested and received the Penquin. He loved it and used it for two days. Then he threw it and the light quit working. So we arranged to return it and purchased the Dragon with the refund. We've since made a rule it's not to be thrown or rough housed with and we've had no problems. He sleeps with it almost every night and uses it frequently.The fur is very soft and the animal is very cuddly. You have to tap the light twice to turn it on. at first this was frustrating to my son, but he quickly learned how to make it work. the time out feature is great so if needs the light on to sleep it will turn off automatically.It is VERY bright. My 7 yr old doesn't like how bright it is, but doesn't prevent the 3 yr old from falling asleep. and more and more just knowing he has it has proved enough that he doesn't have to keep it on all they time.I would recommend and buy again.*NEW INFORMATION*Two weeks ago my 17 month old threw the dragon and now the light quit on this one too. Not happy. May or may not get another. Love the idea but frustrated by how easily the break.

Best little nightlight buddy!
My grandson has loved and played with this for a long time now. The light isn't overtly bright. Perfect for a small child. Batteries last forever in this thing. It's great as a bedtime nightlight.I've cleaned it many times with a damp cloth and it looks like new every time.I would happily recommend.

Lasted less than 2 months
Positives: This dragon Flashlight Friend is adorable. It somewhat resembles a friendly turtle. My 6-year-old son loved it and used it as a flashlight at night to read books at bedtime. There is a handle on the back for the child to hold.Negatives: It seems to go through batteries quickly. We've replaced the batteries multiple times, and now it simply won't turn on anymore.This toy lasted less than 2 months, from Christmas until mid-February. It was not used daily, maybe 3 days/week during that time. And, of course, the return window closed on January 31. There must be something faulty in the construction for it to give out in such a short period of time. I do not recommend this product unless you are looking for a short-term kids flashlight or don't mind using it just as a stuffed animal after it stops working.

Beware! Flashlight may not work
They're cute and it's a great design and idea. HOWEVER... I've had to replace one a COUPLE of times. I bought the dragon for my son and it only worked a little while. I kept it as a plush toy for a few months but wanted one that worked so I bought another. When this got to me, the flashlight didn't work AT ALL. I tried changing the batteries, nothing. I exchanged it immediately. THAT one finally worked and is still working months later. I got the unicorn for my daughter at the same time as the first dragon and that has been working the whole time.

Sweet sleeping buddy:)
I bought both the dragon and unicorn versions for my son and daughter a couple of months ago. They both seem to really enjoy their new nighttime buddy.Pros: nice quality and size (not too big or small, just right for little cuddles), shuts off automatically after about 20 minutes, kids can use it a time they need a flash light.Cons: this can be both a pro and a con, but the light is super bright! It's too bright at bedtime for my liking, but can be dimmed with colored tape. Both my kids were looking directly into the really bright flashlight at first, which made me uncomfortable, so I dimmed it.Ultimately, I would recommend this cute flashlight pal:)

Great gift idea!
I got this for my 3 year old son to "read" in bed before he goes to sleep at night. He loves it (his 5 year old sister already had the blue puppy one) and they love reading their books with it. I like that is provides just enough light to show the pages without making the room too bright. It also has a 10 minute shut off in case they happen to fall asleep while looking at books.

Light stopped working
Normally, I would give something that doesn't work a 2 star review, however, I bought two of these (sold from different suppliers, but item is the same brand) and one still works just fine so I have faith that this is a good product, I just received a bad one. I am replacing it.The quality of the stuffed animal part is pretty decent! My only gripe other than the light not working is the battery compartment... pretty tight opening to get three AAA batteries in there.Worth buying... novel idea.

Cured fear of the dark
My son started the afraid of the dark phase so we bought him a dragon flashlight friend. Instantly cured him of his fear! He can turn it on himself and it turns off after 10 minutes. Just enough time for him to fall asleep. The first one I bought at babies r us died, tried new batteries but it was fried. So I ordered one from this seller and so far so good. Gave the product 4 stars because the first one died but this seller was great for this purchase. Great price too!
