Rigging Threads for Model Ship Making Choice of Colour/Size -50M (Beige,0.65mm)

The photograph in the ad shows four spools of thread when in fact you only receive one and the price is a bit high for just one spool. Also, I haven't tried to use it yet as I'm currently between model builds but it appears to me to be synthetic thread, not cotton, cotton is what is typically used on ship model rigging because synthetic thread does not tie well or lie flat on rigging....hopefully I'm wrong about that and this product does work....but I'm not hopeful.

Despite the poor reviews (most of which were about the fact that that you only get one spool and not 5 as the photo would suggest) I thought I'll give it a chance. After all, the price per spool is not that dissimilar to hand made model rope, but it comes with prime shipping. I was fully expecting something of lower quality than what you get from model ship supplies, but still decent. I was wrong.First of all, it's not cotton - it's some synthetic material that feels like plastic and doesn't want to coil or tie well (although I only tried on a small part as I didn't want to unravel the spool). More than that, the size is not correct. I ordered the 0.35mm, but this is closer to 0.25 (it can move freely through my calipers set to .27mm). Lastly, the tan color has a bit of golden/greenish tint and shine to it and does not look like a hemp rope. Really disappointing.It gets two stars because you could technically use it for your model, but believe me - you're better off ordering from a dedicated model ship vendor.

Please read reviews before you buy, don’t be like me. Like others, the product posting is not accurate at best & misleading at worst. Despite photo showing 4 or 5 rolls of string, you only get one. Yes, if you scroll way done to the questions it states there is only roll. Well, show one in the photo up top. Plus it’s synthetic string not cotton as advertised. This product should be removed until an accurate description is posted.

The add shows 5 rolls. You have to look especially hard to see it's only one roll. It's also not the right texture for ship rigging on models. Will not lay in position. I am returning it. too expensive and misleading add. IMO

Ad is misleading. Only 1 roll for 5.99. Too much trouble to return. Ill use it for something but won't buy from this outfit again.

Nice looking thread, but waxed and so stiff it will not lay flat against blocks that you reeve it through. Looks very unnatural, and not like actual line used on a ship.

Ordered cord for rigging on model boat. The description did not say that the cord was made from a synthetic, not cotton. It's not really suitable for the intended use.
