Held up to a thunderstorm
We bought this tent to camp out for 1-night. Coincidently there was a thunderstorm halfway through the night. We thought it might rain but didn't know it was going to storm. We put the fly on but didn't peg it down. The thunderstorm woke us up and I regretted not pegging down the fly. Unfortunately a bit of water did get in BUT we were dry, I'm sure if we properly pegged it down we wouldn't have an issue. We love how easy it is to assemble, took us seconds! The tent bag is great, has lots of room and easy to carry. We love the added touches of air vents and the net at the top with a hook to hang a lantern. I would 100% recommend this tent and it's such a great price.

Campamento familiar... NO USO RUDO

Love this tent
Love this tent! I spent quite a bit of time comparison shopping and picked this one because it's an instant set-up but has a separate rain-fly so there's tons of ventilation and the option to stargaze without the rainfly. It has stowage pockets in places where it makes sense and a loop to hang a light from as well as an electrical inlet. The rainfly is also a light color which I thought would help keep it cooler than a dark colored one as I will be using this for summer camping. Additionally it's about a foot longer that most 4 person tents and I thought that would help with gear. There weren't any reviews on this tent yet so I researched the company and liked their story. For $100 I figured it was well worth the risk. It arrived in great shape...well stitched, no threads or uneven seams. It's definitely a quality-made product. I fumbled for a minute on the setup but figured it out quickly and put it up in a minute in my living room. The only reason I held back one star was that I can't get it back in the bag for anything even though it broke down quite easily. Also, the outstanding ventilation may not be as desirable in very cold weather or during a dust storm at Burning Man. For summer camping, this is the perfect tent. My friend liked it so much they just bought the 6 person for their family.Post camping update: Once I figured out the reverse mechanics....un-telescope each leg then fold each leg into the center..getting it back in the bag was simple. It was great to setup and break down so quickly. It was a warm night so I didn't use the fly and was able to wake up looking straight through the mesh ceiling at the redwoods towering above. I also needed to move the whole tent to make room for a friend's tent and it took all of 2 minutes. My one and only complaint is the door and zipper design. The fabric kept getting caught in the zipper and the shape of the door made it difficult to hold in a way to make zipping easy because it just flops down. This is a pretty common problem with most tents I've owned. Otherwise I'm very impressed especially for the price. My friend's 6 person cabin version was also super easy to setup and held up to 3 rambunctious kids no problem. I really liked the design and if I had the choice again I might go with the 6 person just for the cabin vs. dome design. It also has the awesome mesh top with separate fly.

Fantastic tent, very easy to setup
I tried this tent side by side with a Coleman Sundome tent, and the Core Equipment tent hands down beats the Coleman. Very easy to setup with it's built-in pop up frame. Materials on all surfaces (especially the base) are top notch. Zippers work well, and my kids love the fact that you don't have to use the top rain proof cover, if you want to sleep under the stars and still be protected from the bugs. Only slightly heavier than the Coleman, likely due to the easy popup mechanism. I wouldn't recommend hiking with this tent though.

Yes, it's that easy and still super functional
My wife and I are avid campers and enjoy car, backpack, and 4-season camping. We bought this tent to replace an old 4-person tent we use for car-camping and several of our friends recommended some derivative of an instant tent (of which there are several varieties now). I did a lot of research and bought the CORE for a couple reasons: less expensive than many instant tents out there, lighter than many of the other tents, different than the tents our friends currently own. I highly recommend this tent.Pros: It took me ten seconds to put up. 90 seconds if you include throwing the rain fly on and staking it down. It's easy to take down as well, and I had no problem fitting it back in the bag. We recently used it on a trip where it was 45ºF and raining, and we stayed warm and dry (granted we had a queen mattress and 0ºF sleeping bag as well). Plenty of space for our queen mattress, backpacks, and rug for shoes, one pocket on the side, and top shelf you can strap in. Zipper didn't catch on protective flaps. Lot's of airflow. Plenty of guy-lines.Cons, if you want to call them that: We knew what we were buying when we got this (e.g. this isn't a backpacking tent). So, it's not ultra light and it doesn't pack down to something you can carry in a backpack. The color is fine, just like the picture, but it is your only option. I love tents with two doors but oh well; this door was great.
