Great question! I bought this as a Christmas present for my kids and they love it! We have used small stones ( like fish tank stones) and sand. Dirt will work as long as it is dry and loose. The vehicle is light so getting traction to push into a pile of dirt maybe difficult. However I think any RC digger type would have the same issue. For the price it's a great buy and my kids love it! Batteries last long as well!

It’s from China. It measures 14”x17”x6”. It’s hard plastic. We got it for our grandson’s 4th birthday. He caught on to the controls quickly. All the grandcholdten ages 4-8 enjoyed it very much.
