Q: If there is currently air in the system, will this method purge it? Where does the air escape from the system?

Yes, it worked great for me! I found a YouTube video that showed the method. You will need another tube that connects to the helm and a quart of hydraulic steering fluid. The air will work it's way back through the helm and out the tube at the helm.

Q: Does this work for Baystar?

Seastar and baystar are the same.

Q: This fit Baystar as well?

It should as long as the quick connect fitting is the same. Usually they are standard one size
