Otherwise, you'll have to connect the USB drive to a computer. **Q: does this adapter support PXE boot** A: We use the USB31000SPTB to PXE boot with surface pro 3 machines all the time. There is a strong chance this will work also. **Q: chromebook** A: It comes with drivers for Windows and Macintosh, not Android. The chipset is the ASIX AX88179. They list a Linux driver for Android 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.x, Linux kernel 2.6.14 and later. But I have no idea how to install that driver on a Chromebook.
