Great Summer Vacation Game
If you are like me, maybe you are checking this game out because you loved Spot It and want to find games with a similar appeal. Fast Flip definitely fits the bill.Like Spot It, Fast Flip comes in a compact, durable metal tin with very cool triangular cards. Here’s how the game works:On one side of the card, players will see a bunch of fruits – raspberries, strawberries, oranges, pineapples and bananas. On the other side, they will see either a single fruit or a number. The cards are stacked with the multiple fruits face up. The top card is turned face down to the side of the deck. If players see a fruit, they must be the first to call out how many of that fruit they see on the card. If they see a number, they must find the fruit that has exactly that number. There are a few variations to the game. My favorite is Token Grab. The premise is the same, except instead of calling out the answer, players must grab the token (included in game) that matches the answer. Once a player has acquired a token, another player can steal it later in the game if he/she is fast enough. The first player to win four tokens is the winner.I am both a parent and a school-based occupational therapist, so in addition to looking for games that are fun for my family, I also try to find games that build skills. Fast Flip is awesome for sharpening visual skills, particularly visual discrimination (differentiating one shape from another), processing speed, scanning, and selective attention. I suspect the folks at Blue Orange intentionally made the colors of the fruits similar to make it extra challenging. It’s definitely a fun and fast-paced game.Fast Flip is for ages 7 and up, but you can definitely player it with a younger crowd if you want to work on counting skills. At only about 4", it’s also a great travel game. This is going to be our vacation game of choice this summer!

Low replayability, few challenges
I am a huge fan of games in general, and I own several adult and children games. I play with my daughter (5 year old) daily, and Fast Flip was never among the top games of her collections. We play it sometimes, but the game is not challenging. It is just too repetitive, and after a couple of minutes there is nothing more to explore, no excitement and no new insights for her. Finding the fruit that appears a certain number of times is OK, she found it moderately interesting. But counting the number of strawberries for example is just too simple and not challenging at all. There are nicer games out there, I don't feel my daughter would miss this one if it was removed from her collection.

Great Educational Game
This game is awesome to help anyone to improve skills for memory, counting, and so forth. Use these cards to help my special education kiddos practice skills. They think they are playing but the skills they learn will help them in every day life.
