Q: Mine failed after 6 weeks. For how long have you had it?

Mine also worked great for 6 months, now it randomly quits working.

Q: Anybody else notice that this thingy gets blazing hot within a very short time? I mean super hot. Really burning hot.

I did. My fingers are burned.. Returning this item and getting a new one to try again. If the new one too gets burning hot then need to file a law suit for physical injury.

Hi! This is a dual-band Wi-Fi adapter, so in most cases, Windows will give you the option to disable the adapter entirely, as opposed to individual bands.
