Great product for pest control
Boric acid mixed with sugar and Diatomaceous Earth is a great natural pest control. I started using after noticing a sharp decline in butterflies, bees, and frogs, after spraying chemicals for a couple of years. After a year or so of using the mix, there are no pest issues (except ants), and they all seemed to have returned to the yard. I also use in the garden. I hate cockroaches; they make my skin crawl. So I do use Advion cockroach gel bait inside the house, inside cabinets and under sinks and have only seen 2 in the past year. All together it's a much safer alternative for my cats, dogs, and outside beneficial insects.

Boric Acid Powder - Very nice grade of product, well packaged that really does the trick and saved me a good deal of money!
I am so happy I found this source of Boric Acid Powder and this is why: Powdered boric acid has antibacterial and anticeptic properties and has been used to treat minor cuts and burns, athletes foot fungus, acne, and other skin problems. It also has the ability to be used as an insecticide. When sprinkled around dark corners it can kill all sorts of creepy crawlers in the basement. It should be handled with care and kept away from children and pets because ingesting this can cause sever illness and even death - it is after all a chemical. Now if kept safely away from the little ones, this is a very handy powder to have around the house and with a little instruction and care you can learn to safely use it and replace many more toxic and more expensive products. Here is a great source of information about it. : http://creationwiki.org/Boric_acidThis product is an excellent grade of boric acid and I have used if for many skin problems, as well as treating one of my dogs for an ear infection. It worked well and saved me from having to buy costly skin over the counter products that don't work half as well for athletes foot and other rashes and also saved me from having to take the dog to the vet. Can't beat that!

As a pest poison, good with a lure, maybe not so good without one.
I would describe the media as granular and not quiet a dust/powder. So, I felt like it was most effective at killing pests with exoskeletons using a lure, whereby the pest eats the lure and the boric acid and is poisoned. Using peanut butter and peanut butter powder was effective. However, I did not feel like the granular nature of the boric acid facilitated a contact transfer of the poison. I am not sure it is lightweight enough to cling sufficiently to the bodies of pests in the amounts needed to poison them while cleaning themselves or being cleaned by their nest-mates.

I got it to get rid of centipedes.
Always hard to know if this product actually works. These pests come and go and I use this in conjuction with other products. It seems that I see fewer of these awful creatures than I did 4 years ago. So it likely works at least somewhat. In order to use it one must get intructions from the internet. Or elsewhere.

I used this boric acid to help rid my house of fleas and it did a fantastic job. I put the boric acid on my carpets just like you would reg. carpet powder, only I used a soft broom to work it into the carpet all the way to the nap. I then went around every baseboard with a thin line. and then I used a light dusting on my upholstered furniture and the pet bedding. Thats it, I waited til the next day vacuumed as usual. I had bathed the dogs and cats also. I didn't use the carpet cleaner for a month to make sure that any fleas that hatched got desiccated also. If you are looking for a great way to kill the fleas without using insecticide this is it. Boric acid is only slightly more toxic than table salt. I wouldn't take a bath in it but i am not as bothered by it as insecticide.

Sooo Much Better Than Monistat
Where has this stuff been all my life?. I'm using it for yeast infections. I've always had problems with yeast infections due to hormone changes. When I ovulated, I could always count on getting a stupid infection. Now, I'm hitting menopause, but I still get the occasional yeast infection. Unfortunately, my last one turned into something like a gypsy curse--it was ferocious and wouldn't go away. I did some research and found out about Boric Acid. This stuff rocks! It took away the yeast infection overnight. And no horrible stinging and burning like Monistat. It's granular, like salt, so I just mix it with some coconut oil or Carlson e-key suppositories and insert. What a relief.

Good value
Granules a bit large for jewelry purposes, ie fire scale prevention. You really want to opt for more of a powdered consistency, this stuff is a bit like sand. It does the job but I feel like it would coat better with finer particle size

It worked very well. I used it by mixing ...
I was satisfied with the result. I mixed one table spoon of Boric Acid with approximately one table spoon of powder sugar. I placed about 1/4 of teaspoon in the corners on the counter, cupboards, and the kitchen floor. I used it for ants. I do NOT recommend using Boric Acid if you have children or pets at home as I have read it may NOT BE SAFE. Also, if you think the powder is not fine enough you could grind it in the coffee grinder for a few seconds. I did so because I did not have regular sugar on hand. FYI: I tried mixing it with water as one reviewer had suggested, it was messy and did not work for me.
