At (currently) £8.99 this gate catch may seem expensive but it is strong and at 57mm larger than normal catches. In my opinion worth paying extra as unlike flimsy catches where you can bend or break due to inferior thin metal this catch should stand up to years of use. Comes with galvanized screws which hold well and simple to fix to gate. Nothing to dislike and will buy again if needed.

It is twice as robust as the one it replaced and looks like it’ll last a lifetime. It works great, looks great and is good value for money.

If there is one thing i can fault it for, it rattles in the wind. The “peg” latches into place, but due to fairly large tolerance, no tension in the latch, the gate moving in the breeze makes the latch rattle

Note: This is the 57mm "heavy duty" version of the Irontite Gate Latch, and is very well made from heavier guage steel.There is another similar Irontite gate latch which is slightly cheaper and not quite as robust.I am very happy with the quality and function of this heavy duty latch, which also comes with quality mounting screws.MUCH better than all of the generic cheap latches on offer here and elsewhere (including the ususal hardware and builders merchants) which may seem very cheap, but are poorly made from thin metal and do not function well, and fall apart quickly.If you are (like I was me) searching for the best quality latch available, look no further. I highly recommend this item.

Just what I wanted. My front gate kept getting left open so I wanted a catch that would auto close.I saw they do a slightly cheaper version but reviews said it was flimsy. This one seems good. Was easy to fit with the screws supplied. I didn't need to do any pilot holes. I didn't need to measure anything I just eye balled it.

It is strong. I put it on my gate door and it works perfectly.

I wanted a sturdy catch for a heavy gate. This was a little more expensive than the one available from my local DIY as shop, but it was worth the extra for the heavier build quality. It appears to be galvanised thick iron. The purchase did not include fitting screws. A recommended item.

Perfect item just took a few minutes to fix to the gate very sturdy and rust resistant.
