Q: 50 watt version has hole in front cover? How big is it? Buying so baby nerite can't get into heaterto replace old heater with gaps like that

if your talking about the area around the red lED its small but if worried , i would put a little dab of silicone and let dry. then use . will tank a look and message back

The red light always stays on. The Fluval seems to be the most reliable out of all the heaters I’ve tried. Hope this helps.

It has an internal thermometer. It turns off when it gets 78°
