How did I not know about these for decades?!! Trying to iron shirts so there are no creases is challenging. I saw these and decided to try them out. They work great. You know how you can’t quite get all the areas of your shirt fit around the ironing board? This solves it! Check it out.

These are MUCH softer than the Dritz and other brand hams. However, I believe they will work fine as they have enough girth to press curves. I've attached a video showing me applying very hot heat and steam as well as squishing them. The fabric did not burn, melt or get tacky. (The lighting is weird, my hands aren't that red) * UPDATE December 2023: As my skills have progressed this tailors ham is horrible. It's super squishy. That's NOT what a pressing tool should be. They're supposed to be firm enough to PRESS on. It's almost like a half filled balloon. Extremely difficult to use to press seams down. Would not buy again. I see they don't even sell Dritz brand, it's all very off-brand products that will be similar. Quite sad to see that the options to choose respectable and established brands on Amazon has dwindled significantly. Its like they're becoming an over-priced off-brand dollar store.

Do NOT buy this!! A dressmaker’s ham is supposed to be made from a natural fiber like cotton and are super firm, almost hard. They’re usually filled with packed sawdust or something similar to help form seams with heat and pressure . This ham is made of polyester (plastic) and stuffed with poly fill (plastic). First off it is entirely too soft to aid with structure creation via pressure and heat, and second plastic does not disperse the heat properly for this and also compacts, distorts and MELTS under high heat/steam. These things combined render this completely unusable All in all a very disappointing purchase. I got what I paid for, something cheap. Lesson learned.

Many of the other tailor's hams are made with part polyester fabric, so one cannot use a hot iron on them. This set is cotton and linen, and works well with a hot iron. The tubular one is slightly askew, as if it were not sewn or the stuffing eased into the tube properly. It still mostly works. The main thing is the linen cotton aspect which is very helpful.

Not only did the set help me iron darts, sleeves, and collars more easily, the large ham is also really good to pin my work to when I'm doing a little hand stitching to baste or finish seams. It was also useful when I needed to braid cords- I made a beaded braided headband and the large ham was a good size to pin my work and keep it in my lap while I worked.

Not good quality but the set serves its purpose. They are kinda lumpy and lopsided with ugly stitching. I probably could’ve made them better myself, but I didn’t want to spend the time on it. They do appear to made of the right materials for pressing and the ham and seam roll serve their intended purpose well enough.

A tailor's ham should be very hard. These are like soft pillows - they may be helpful, but they're not what they should be.
