Huge and sturdy; Heavy duty; Convenient for college students
TL;DR: This is a large, heavy duty canvas bag with convenient pockets and comfortable length shoulder straps. It has a sturdy zipper along the main opening to keep items hidden or secure. However, it can hold more or taller items if left unzipped. It would make an excellent shopping bag. (It's spacious enough to hold what could be stuffed into 2 reusable Walmart or Target bags, and it can hold far more weight). It would also make a great overnight bag or work tote. The price seems reasonable considering how well-made it is. You'll definitely be able to get ample use before the day it finally gives out (maybe years later depending on how you use it). It seems like it can take quite an amount of abuse and still function well. It looks like an excellent item for screen printing, fabric painting, and such. If you want to make a very nice, customized XL canvas bag for someone, this would be the one. It would leave the recipient feeling special... like you carefully selected the best canvas bag you could find, just for them. They definitely would not be left with the impression that you simply gifted them with some bought-in-bulk, lightweight bag that you might've had laying around your home/work space. This bag feels and looks like quality.More detailed review:I ordered this bag and the 20 inch wide version at the same time. Both are from the same brand/seller. (I got this one on sale, but paid full price for the smaller one. They were basically the same price at the time of my purchase, so this was the better deal.)The 20 inch version arrived much sooner, and I was surprised by how large it seemed. I tested it out and found it to be great for carrying several heavy items that a normal re-usable shopping bag would not be able to handle. I liked it a lot. Then this bag arrived, and it seems so much larger despite only being a few inches wider! The thickness, sturdiness, and overall quality are the same between both bags. I'd recommend either one. If you want more space, then obviously this is the better one. *I realized both bags seem excessively large when you first look at them while they're flattened out. But they don't seem excessively large once you open them up and pack some items into them.I bought several canvas bags in an attempt to gift the best one to my daughter. My criteria was to find something thick, sewn well enough to not be concerned about threads snapping or unraveling under pressure, sturdy and comfortable shoulder straps, able to safely fit and hold at least three 2-liter soda bottles, ability to fold into a fairly compact size, washable, full zipper closure, and as plain of a design as possible that also allowed for some amount of customization. This is the bag I decided I'm going to give to my daughter. It meets all of my criteria and then some. Why might this be a great bag for some college students? My daughter has recently started complaining about "shopping bag issues." She's a very young adult and doesn't drive. We currently live in a city where they've gotten rid of disposable plastic bags at stores. You either bring your own bags, or you pay about 5 cents (sometimes more) for each flimsy paper bag you use, or you pay a little more for a reusable bag... if there are any available for purchase. A lot of stores do not allow you to bring backpacks inside (even really compact ones that can only fit a thin laptop and a notebook). We both dislike the paper bags because some have handles that pop right off, others are difficult to carry certain items in, and they all become useless if you happen to have to walk thru a little rain. We've accumulated a collection of store-brand re-usable bags, but not all were worth the buy. The ones that are pretty sturdy and large enough to be practical for a small shopping trip can only be folded down to a certain size. They're made of a thicker, recycled plastic material. So, folding them improperly causes them to wear out in unexpected spots. They all have giant grocery store logos and vibrant food pictures printed all over them. It's really ironic how the community where we live is so adamant about promoting re-usable shopping bags, but retail staff will treat you like a potential thief if you walk into a store carrying an empty one on your shoulder. Or how a lot of people will stare at you for using a bag that's branded with a competing store's logo. It's so non-sensical to me, and I usually just brush off the ignorance. But my daughter is still young and self-conscious about issues like this. She's also concerned about being at least somewhat fashionable when she's out and about... so carrying around a couple of beat up recycled plastic bags that look like mini folded car visors with grocery store logos on them is a little embarrassing for her.Still, she tries to carry at least one in case she has to do some shopping while commuting from work/school/home. There have been way too many times she opted to take a flimsier bag and the strap or seams ended up giving out on her. This bag should be perfect for her needs. She'll be able to fold it up and shove it in her purse if she wants to. Or she can carry the bag and put her purse inside instead. It's plain as heck and washable, so it's not going to draw unwanted attention like the grocery bags. Or she can customize it with a design that she feels comfortable showing off. It's large enough that she can even shove her compact laptop backpack in it and zip it up. It would still give her enough space to carry the 40 oz water bottle she usually takes to work/school and still fit in a few items from the store.I'll probably give her both the 20 inch wide bag and this one, so she'll have more space for shopping on the days she has to hide her backpack in order to be allowed into a store. Plus, she just may not like how wide this one is at times.I highly recommend this bag. I'll update this review if we find out it's not as good as it seems. If there aren't any updates within the year, that likely means the bag is still going strong. If my daughter can get a full year's use out of it (given how clumsy she is), I will have considered this money well spent.

Have bought like 6 of these by now
Love this canvas bag so much-- I love how big it is, and the zipper closure. I use it for almost everything-- work bag, carry on, beach bag, camping supply bag-- and have bought it at least 6 times over.
