Real Bamboo wood surrounds 8mm drivers giving the LSTN Wembley a sound far beyond their price point. The Wembley earbuds feature in-line volume control, microphone and pause/play control with all devices. The rubber cable and gold hardware add a striking final touch. All in all, we're sure that you'll love the Wembley as much as we do. For every pair sold, LSTN helps provide hearing aids to a person in need through Starkey Hearing Foundation.

My epic search for functional and sustainable headphones (5/5 green stars)
I needed to buy a new pair of earbud headphones and began searching for a company that’s environmentally and socially responsible. I narrowed it down to LSTN, House of Marley, Symphonized, and Thinksound and eventually bought a pair of House of Marley headphones (Uplift). Alas, I had to return them because there was too much interference from the cord, they were uncomfortable in my ears, and also the volume control didn’t work with my phone. I like the social mission of LSTN so I bought a pair of these Wembley headphones when I found them on sale. The Wembley earbuds have a mic with a full 3-button control (play/pause, skip tracks, volume, phone calls) that works with my iPod and also my Android phone (LG X Power). The earbuds are comfortable in my ears and do a good job at excluding background noise. They don’t completely exclude all sound but I actually prefer it that way – I become uncomfortable if I can’t hear anything at all around me, and if internal sounds like eating food become amplified because of the earphones! The cord doesn’t tangle, they look nice, and importantly, the sound quality is very good! Not crazy bass-heavy but just good clear well-balanced sound quality across a broad range of frequencies and musical styles. Wood earbuds are good not just for the planet, but also for sound quality.Besides the regular rating, I’m giving them a rating of 5/5 “green” stars, based on social and environmental impact. Starting with the obvious, the earbuds are made from bamboo wood (one of the most sustainable materials on the planet). The cord is made from rubber, which is not too bad – the main thing is to avoid PVC. LSTN package their headphones in a cardboard box – I was disappointed to see that that box insert was some kind of light plastic, coated with some kind of fuzzy felt, making it pretty much un-recyclable. LSTN have a big social mission: they fund the provision of hearing aids for people in need through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. So far they have funded hearing aids to over 20,000 people. I would prefer if they had more information on their website about this mission as well as sustainability of the materials they use for their headphones and packaging. But overall I think they qualify as one of the best, if not the best, headphones to choose if you want sustainable materials and a positive benefit for society.

Decent, attractive earbuds that isolate noise well
I like these pretty well. I'm not an audiophile, so the only thing I look for is a comfortable fit and decent noise isolation. These are fairly comfortable, not the best I've ever used, but not uncomfortable either. The included extra sizes of earbud tips do help. I have really small ear canals, so I use the smallest size. They could be a tad smidge smaller for me personally. The noise isolation is very effective. I have noticed a slight tinny sound at times coming out of the right earbud, but I can't tell if that's the earbuds or something else causing it. They are very attractive earbuds, I like the bamboo wood. The bag they come with is handy and easy to use. All in all, they were a decent purchase for the money. I did buy them when the price had dropped to $50, I wouldn't pay $100 for these as it seems they might be right now. If you're spending that kind of money, I'd definitely look at a higher end brand.

Mixed feelings
So... I do love these headphones. They’re beautiful, and the sound quality is great. I would be happy to keep using them for the rest of my life if it weren’t for the issues with durability. I have gone through 3 pairs in about 2 years? They are true to their 1-year warranty and will replace them if something happens, however...it’s crazy that these don’t last more than a year. I do use them every day, but I think that’s completely normal for a young person like me, exactly the type of person they’re marketing to with these super aesthetic expensive earbuds. And if I’m paying $80 for some earbuds, they had better last! My last two pairs broke in exactly the same way as well, the glue holding the base of the earbud to the part that goes in your ear stopped holding and they fell apart. My current pair is starting to look a little weak around the mic area? Which is weird because I pretty much never use that, as I have an iPhone7, and the volume buttons don’t work with the headphone jack adapter. The last time I contacted customer service, they said something like I had contacted them just in time because my warranty was about to run out. But that was one year since my FIRST pair of earbuds, not since I had received the replacement they sent me. It really seems like the warranty should reset, so that if the new ones break in under a year (as they did) you can get them replaced.TLDR, I love these earbuds, they are gorgeous and the sound is great. But at the end of the day their durability does not reflect their price, and they’re just too expensive to replace every year.

Great sound, great service.
As a musician, I'm a little bit audio elitist when it comes to headphones, but these deliver! My ears don't usually take kindly to most earbud tips but these fit snugly, especially with the small pair. Sound is very clean, solid bass. The most impressive factor is the sound isolation; I don't hear any background noise when listening. After having them for about a year, I thought the Wembley wires had malfunctioned (turns out it was my Lifeproof adapter that was messed up) so emailed LSTN and sent them back, and they sent me a brand new pair for free. Nothing but respect for the company and what they support.

Not great
I liked the idea of the company being socially responsible, but the quality is just not great. The battery lasts only 2-3 hours on a full charge and the sound quality is not good.
