An asset to Warcraft, the buttons make life so much simpler! LED light looks cool and can be adjusted easily.
Overview:I have been playing MMORPGs for well over a decade now, and I have been on Warcraft since the beginning. Let me tell you, I had no idea how much easier my gaming experience could have been. All of the buttons work perfectly and the software is supported on both Windows and OS X. I used to frantically guess at what buttons I was pressing and hoping I was going through the right cycle of spells, but with these buttons on the mouse I can get the right spell every time exactly when I need to cast it! I have transformed from an OK warlock in PVP to an unstoppable warlock. What do I like?-The design. Yes, this mouse is bigger than ones I have used in the past, but it is very aesthetically pleasing both to my eyes and my hand. The additional buttons are easy to reach and just as responsive as you'd expect them to be. The color changing LED light is an interesting feature as well. Do note that these traits encompass the fact that the overall quality is premium.-The setup. All I needed to do was plug it in and change ONE setting in the game. After that, I was able to change my key bindings. More advanced settings require you to install the software, which anyone can do.What do I dislike?-The cable. Not a big deal, but seeing such a scrawny/average USB cable coming out of such an awesome mouse is a little silly to me.-Minor bugs. If you unplug the mouse, you'll need to open the included software to putting your settings back again.

Great mouse
Ok, unlike the others reviewing here, I thought this mouse was amazing. It has 11 buttons, and they are very well placed unlike the ones on the Nagas. In fact, the design is the BEST. The only competition is the other WoW mice. It works great in all games and even when using 3D programs like Maya. The DPI settings were perfect for me(Gamer/3D artist.) The issue I had, and what spurred me to write this review, is that the laser has basically died after 10 days short of a year. That was an expensive $60 for something that died in a year.I am waiting for them to get back to me. If support is helpful I will come back and update this. I have just never had to deal with SteelSeries support in the past so hopefully it isnt painful.EDIT: So far, support has been fantastic. They promptly replied to me, on Labor day at 8AM(which I didn't think was possible) and the RMA is all set and just waiting on the forever slow USPS to get it back to the warehouse.I really do not understand all of the bad reviews. Great mouse, great design, great support, affiliated with Blizzard, and glows with any color you want. If it does die, just send it back.

Not bad, but its no Cataclysm Edition Mouse!
The Steelseries World of warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse "Legendary Edition" was just released. I managed to snag mine from Amazon.com although it seems none of the major retailers have gotten ahold of this product as of yet.Packaging: Shipped in a sturdy box with a single plastic air bumper pouch, the box was in great shape. Easy to open (few sealing stickers but you shouldn't need scissors) and once inside, the cardboard insert containing the mouse slides right out. Not too much excess packaging, and the box looks great on display.Build Quality: Upon initial inspection, the "Legendary" mouse appears alot "shinier" than previous Warcraft mouse models. The left and right mouse buttons are seemlessly connected to the main plastic cover that spans the top of the mouse. You can see all this in the pictures Amazon as provided. The plastic feels smooth and glossy versus the dull matte finish of the previous two models. The base of the mouse appears to have been coated in a strong rubberized finish that would probably take years to wear off. The other two mice also had this finish. The mouse "feet" that allow a mouse to glide along a surface on the bottom appear to be a durable plastic although I fear repetitive long term use may wear them out fast. The Optical light appears as a strong red beam. The cord leaves one to wonder considering the previous two Warcraft mice posessed a braided cable that was nearly tangle and snag proof. The "Legendary" takes back the traditional semi-rubber coated cord that is indicative of the typical mouse. A serious drawback to an hard-core gaming mouse fan.Ergonomics: Placing ones hand upon the Steelseries "Legendary" Edition, one will notice its small (or medium) sized form factor. I have fairly large hands, so the mouse has taken some getting used to. The base of my palm rest firmly against my mousepad providing a comfortable feel rather than the bulky feeling of the SteelSeries WoW and WoW Cataclysm mice in which my palm would barely rest on the mouse pad but my fingers and center of my palm would have to arch around the mouse itself. Button placement is very comfortable and I don't feel as if I might accidently press a button unintentionally as was often the case with the "Legendaries'" predecessors. Steelseries has removed the three extra buttons that populated the Cataclysm Edition and four extra buttons as compared to the Original Warcraft Mouse. This makes the mouse appear less crowded and more visually appealing. The mouse can be easily utilized in game-play and general computer usage comfortable for hours if not more!Ease of Setup and Use: Software is download only (although mouse itself is plug and play without the software goodies...) from [...] Software installs quickly and mouse prompts a firmware upgrade (Good to see that Steelseries is actively improving their product). A windows desktop bar icon will be present in the right hand corner where you can utilize a menu of options. The software, just like the other two steelseries Warcraft mice, allows you to create custom game macros and keybindings for world of warcraft to be implemented into the game. You can use the software or check the Enable In Game Mode option to key-bind your mouse buttons directly in-game. I prefer to macro them in game since it is much easier to test how comfortable I am with the placement of that ability as it is bound to the mouse button. You can upload up to 10 active character profile. You can change the color, intensity, and pulsation of the World of Warcraft light up window near the palm area of the mouse. For all intensive purposes, mine is set to red. Default is yellowish/gold.Technology: The software is advanced although it was basically the same with the last two implementations. Small changes have ocurred over this time, but the basic design remains the same. It remains to be seen if this mouse has any defects like those that were present in the 1st generation Warcraft mouse. The major gripe I have about this mouse, technology wise, is the use of Optical technology instead of laser. Optical mice are great for every day computer users and are best for when you do not have a mouse pad. Laser mice are typically more expensive than optical and have a much harder time reading any other surface than a mousepad. Laser mice are best for computer gamers. Unfortunately the price is the same for this mouse as compared to other laser mice especially the previous two Warcraft mice which both featured laser technology. A disappointment, but I have yet to see the mouse actually become hindered by this issue and the speed remains superb while playing even the most mouse demanding game (Battlefield:3 Beta).Implementation: The macros/keybinding work as intended. My computer recognized the mouse and the software installed without a hitch. The ergonomics will take some getting used to as the mouse is a bit different from the design of the World of Warcraft and Cataclysm Steelseries Mice. The mouse appears sturdy and rugged as well as being aestetically pleasing with the glossy lightning strike pattern arcing around a center light-up globe which pulsates the World of Warcraft logo. Gameplay feels comfortable, ensuring that long gaming hours won't leave you exhausted and with hand cramps! Ultimately the mouse is a trumph, even with a few minor cons, as Steelseries always seems to put 110% or more into each other their products. They've come a long way from the original WoW mouse and its flaws, why not give it a try today. You won't be disappointed!
