No photos!
I was so disappointed in this book. If you are in fashion merchandising school or in that field it may well be helpful. I was looking for style ideas and photo examples. For me, the book was not useful, so I'm going to try and trade it in at the used book store!

Great book!
This a good book, the English slang that was used frequently through out the book threw me off a bit. Other than that it was cool.

A must-have
This book is the must have for anyone who is interested in styling and knowing more about this profession. I have read many other books on the topic and they tend to be superficial or written by a "celebrity" stylist that is only trying to publicise her name/work.This book is a true gem. Even if it was written in 1999 most of the info is still relevant. The author is clearly a pro with a massive wealth of experience. Of course you will not find references to the internet and live streaming of fashion shows, digital photograph or iPads, but nevertheless this is still the best book on the market when it comes to styling, The author's writing style is engaging and never patronising. There are great ideas on how to improve your "eye" and how to test yourself and your passion for this profession. The author is disclosing a lot of insiders information. Highly recommended. I wish that Jo Dingemans would publish a new version of this amazing book.

Didn't really learn anything new from it
I have only been working backstage in one fashion show and I've been styling for an amateur fashion shoot, so I am not quite yet "in the know", but I didn't learn anything new from this book. Maybe it's nice to have as a reference guide or a check-list, but better learn by doing. The source directory, which takes up 30 pages of the total 188 is useless to me, because I'm in Sweden.
